Thanks for uploading Image:Hk47DefLove.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. KOTOR

edit

The character IS named Revan. That should be mentioned early on, as the plot synopsis changes from 'the player' and 'Revan' at inopportune moments. Mrmoocow 21:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup templates

edit

Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "unrefernced", "fact", "cleanup" etc, are best not "subst"ed. See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 16:20 27 February 2007 (GMT).

Re: Chobits

edit

IMDb doesn't cover all facets of stuff. Source can relay to the original comics, too. Just thought I'd like to point out that I personally believe it's Shoujo-related due to the "My other self" portion of the comic (but using that as argument makes me POV'd). - Penwhale | Blast him / Follow his steps 10:15, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

i know imdb doesn't cover it all, but we still need sources. as fans we can't properly say what genres it is, to many of us might be too biased on what to call it. --Ditre 00:45, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

Please do not remove referenced and verified content. Sources from any language can actually be used as references on the English Wikipedia, and has been used on numerous good article-class, a-class and featured-class articles here (for more information, please review the hundreds of excellently-rated Japan-related articles on Wikipedia). See, for example, Wikipedia:Citing sources: However, do give references in other languages where appropriate. Since this is a Japanese topic referring to Japanese terms such as seinen, shōjo, etc. it is obvious that Japanese language references will be used and most certainly should be used, so as to improve the verifiability of the article; see the numerous a-class Japan-based articles here, for instance. Moreover, the very fact that Chobits is serialized in a Japanese seinen magazine such as Young Magazine which is officially targeted at such an audience by its publishers (see its official website) gives to the fact that it is seinen (therefore not requiring a reference for it in the first place), due to it being an already published material. there was no english translation given --Ditre 03:04, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Neither is an English translation necessary to cite any references, especially on a Japan-based topic. See WP:MOS-JA. ···巌流? · Talk to Ganryuu 04:41, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

directly off the link you so willfully gave

Because this is the English Wikipedia, English-language sources should be given whenever possible, and should always be used
in preference to other language sources of equal calibre. However, do give references in other languages where appropriate.
If quoting from a different language source, an English translation should be given with the original-language quote beside
it.

it is best to read the entire paragraph instead of just what you want to read --Ditre 19:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Hk47DefLove.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hk47DefLove.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 18:52, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
