Adoption

edit

I would like to adopt you. Chubbennaitor 18:41, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'd accept your adoption with no problems, if you know licensing well enough! Diti (talk to the penguin) 19:28, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please explain what licensing you're on about. Chubbennaitor 20:18, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I was talking about uploading copyrighted pictures, I don't know Fair Use at all. Diti (talk to the penguin) 21:23, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah now the fair use images are images uploaded but the uploader doesn't want to reveal them publicly. Chubbennaitor 18:02, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I eventually asked Diligent Terrier to adopt me because of, between others, his knowledge of MediaWiki's ParserFunctions. Thank you for your attention, and good luck. Diti (talk to the penguin) 11:17, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Fine. I wouldn't be any hope now. I'm not here for the next two years. Chubbennaitor 19:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, could you remove the flag image from your signature? See Wikipedia:Signatures#Images for all the reasons against using images in signatures. Garion96 (talk) 02:21, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done, it was brought because of SUL. It's fixed now. :) Diti (talk to the penguin) 08:24, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Joyeux nouvel an!

edit

File:Hands and more.gif

Hi Diti,
although I'm able to READ French ~ as well as EN, I switch over to en when writing:
My not very young brain seems to "store" these two languages in "completely different departments," which means that I have serious troubles to switch from en (which I recently, say ~40 years, use by far more often than my fr, which I learned a while ago by far more better than en [8:4 years ;]) to fr when writing.

For a beginning:
I wish you (and your family) a Happy_New_Year, and, to have a good time, and also with your "bachot".

Question:
I do have troubles to translate (mostly even: to understand) "argot". Would you be willing to help? I'll pass by soon.
Best, [w.] 11:01, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! =3
Damn, I just have the time to send you a quick reply... I'll do it quick, sorry! :(
Well, I think I know the reasons when you're asking for that translation... I took time to find out the English equivalent to this word! :p
Well, argot means... slang! Happy new year! ^v^ Diti (talk to the penguin) 23:25, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Undeletion

edit

I undeleted File:Crabeatuk.jpg (log) as per your request. I'm not sure why there is no image on the page (perhaps because four years have passed since it was deleted?) — Athaenara 09:44, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes old images are permanently lost on Wikipedia, and cannot be undeleted. Jay (talk) 09:53, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

JULY 2010

edit

Salut Diti'! It's great to see your concern for the quality of our articles as you did to Worcestershire Sauce. However, please remember that this is is the English Wikipedia, and as such, articles about English subjects are best illustrated with original English images. Merci! --Kudpung (talk) 15:16, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello! As you can see on the previous photo that was in the article (and is on it now, as you reverted the changes), its description page says the following: “Worcestershire sauce, as sold in Netherlands (2009)”. As you could see on my photo, it is the exact same product (because I bought it on import), except it is of packshot quality. I won’t revert you back because it is my photo and I wouldn’t be neutral by doing so, but I just wanted to point out the fact that an English photo or a French photo shouldn’t be treated differently when they illustrate the exact same English article. Bye! Diti the penguin 16:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
So much more reason why your edit might not have been such a good idea. But don't be disheartened - keep up the good work et si jamais il y a qqch que tu ne comprends pas, n'hésite pas à me demander :) --Kudpung (talk) 16:27, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, I still don’t understand… You want me to come to the United Kingdom, buy the same product, and take the same photo of it? Diti the penguin 16:36, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Laisse tomber ;) --Kudpung (talk) 16:38, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
  The Anti-Flame Barnstar
A new record has been set this day for pieces of comically patronising nonsense. For your calm reaction to grotesquely xenophobic condescension, I award you this barnstar Alistair Stevenson (talk) 21:14, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you… I have to admit I have been (and still am) shocked by this situation and the kind of messages I received. I thank you for having taken your time to award me this barnstar, as well as for your concern. Take care. Diti the penguin 22:10, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Take care to understand that that the comments I have made in good faith that suggest that you may not have understood, are taken out of context by Alistair who has a clear history of such commenting, This his is another deliberate attempt of his to cover for his eceedindingly abusive comments to other authors. He has already been asked by several other editors to avoid situations that might foster further unpleasantness.--Kudpung (talk) 01:23, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, thank you for your concern, I read his talk page and he has indeed something to feel guilty about. However, I still agree about what he said, because those are my feelings exactly. Diti the penguin 02:54, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Brontë

edit

Hi Diti, I wonder if you would like to have a look at this translation I made of this very long Brontë article from the French Wikipedia at the request of an administrator. Although I am bilingual French-English, there were some turns of phrase that I was not sure about due to the occasionally unuusual use of French, or doubtful syntax. It would be great if you could find the time to look it over for us. The original French Wiki article is [[1]], and my rough draft before it was copyedited and posted to mainspace and the discussions about it are here. Thanks.--Kudpung (talk) 01:36, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh my, that is a really long article for sure! I will try to give it a look if I have time and motivation the next days. Diti the penguin 02:56, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I wanted to revert this edit, and found out the IP range of my ISP OVH Télécom (sub-company of OVH), 2001:41D0:0:0:0:0:0:0/32 , has been blocked by Elockid. May I be whitelisted? Also, I would like to note that this very IP range block is possibly unwanted. Thanks! Diti the penguin 19:22, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

It appears that the original block has been narrowed, and set to anon only - so it shouldn't cause you any further problems. You can also find information on obtaining an IP Block Exemption at WP:IPEC. SQLQuery me! 03:17, 11 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
