i am sorry, but i do not know how to use this. i just need to add the 'live' shot of the bass player from his band's facebook page to his Wiki page, and the person that took the photo gave me permission to use it. please help me figure out what i need to do!! (i had to leave for work this morning before i could figure it out, and just got back home and found this. i'm trying my best to figure out what i need to do...please be patient!) thanks.
Hello. If you have a permission from the person who took the photo, you need to make sure they really meant to allow not only us on Wikipedia to use the file, but everybody else too. Wikipedia files must be free to re-use for any purpose. When you've clarified that, could you ask the owner to please either (a) add a statement about the licensing to the facebook page (e.g. "This picture is published under the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike license"), or (b) send a brief confirmation to that effect to our copyright service at "permissions-en@wikimedia.org" (e.g. "I confirm that I am the photographer of the image 'Les Pattinson Cebu City.jpg' and that I agree to release it under the CC-BY-Sa license"). Thanks, – Fut.Perf. 00:37, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
