npg images

Hi DimSum38, I have just noticed that you have been uploading a number of NPG images to wikimedia commons. There are a number of issues this raises. Firstly, the npg claim copyright on them. Each image has information on its npg page which describe how they think their images should be used. Depending on the studio, some of these they are happy to be used on wikipedia. The npg currently has a fairly strict use on their images that I hope they will relax when they carry out a revue in the spring. I would not want to see them upset by what they would consider licence abuse as this may affect any decision they reach. Secondly, some of your uploads are not in the public domain in the USA so shouldn't have been uploaded to commons. Those non-public domain uploads therefore have incorrect licencing descriptions. You appear to be treading a path that I did about a year ago. I am willing to help you if you want. Graemp (talk) 15:59, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
