Certification
editHi Digitalfunda, added some comments to the CSTE-page. I wrote the ISTQB Certified Tester page. How about we change some ideas about both (dis-/advantages)? You knowing CSTE, me knowing ISTQB. I invite you to my forum. --Erkan Yilmaz 16:39, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Software Testing Certification
editI deleted the certifications details [[1]] that you posted for two reasons, both listed in the change comment. They were incomplete, and I found portions at an external web site. I understand that the are widely accepted in the testing industry, but I do not believe that they are "industry standards" as fewer than 40% of testers world wide report to having any certification (see tha annual stickyminds/better software salary and industry review for further details). The only define software testing in India. I moderate a CSQA and a CSTE discussion group on Yahoo. I will be deleting the sections that are copyright violations. The thing that originally piqued my interest was that they pointed to Indian sub-sites, not the sites of the parent certifications (QAI and ISTQB). I suggest visits to http://www.softwaredioxide.com/Certifications/index.htm and http://rapidsqa.com/pages/353345/ for details on all of the certifications and give them equal shrift. --Walter Görlitz 17:01, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

- about certification figures:
- one survey from 2005 says: 24% have a certification -> please note that: 69% of the survey-participants come from USA

Re: SOA
editHello, I removed the link from the article because it was not a reference (it was not cited in the article). I considered adding it as an external link, but decided not to as it was a link to a blog, and blogs are generally discouraged as external links unless they are written by accepted experts on a subject. If you feel that the link fits this description, please feel free to add it as an external link, but please don't add it to the references section if it is not cited elsewhere in the article. Thanks. --Michig (talk) 09:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't feel this meets the crieria for inclusion as an external link. The WP:EL guideline is quite clear: "Links to blogs and personal web pages, except those written by a recognized authority (this exception is meant to be very limited; as a minimum standard, recognized authorities always meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for biographies)." The author of this blog is not, as far as I am aware, a recognized authority on the subject, and does not appear to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for biographies.--Michig (talk) 09:59, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
editHello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.
