June 2020 edit

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 20:52, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at [[:User talk:MrOllie[edit]]]. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 16:34, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Doug. talk. I'm new here, so I'm still figuring out how to communicate on here. (Redacted) What I posted was factual, not an attack. You two are overlooking your own attacks on me.

Look, you are new as you say and clearly don't understand how we ask editors to behave. Please read WP:NPA, WP:AGF, and WP:CIVIL. And frankly your accusations are nonsense. Of course you could ask about your problems at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject LGBT studies and join that Wikiproject. But you've got to stop the insults, we don't allow that sort of thing. Doug Weller talk 19:09, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

These are not insults, Doug. They are facts. My "problems" are editors removing valid information because it's LGBTQ.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at User talk:MrOllie. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. Ed6767 talk! 19:24, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Calling someone homophobic is not an attack. Being homophobic is. (Redacted) I'm not insulting them, I'm pointing out a fact. Just as calling someone a racist is not an attack. Being a racist is.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Diaphena2010 (talkcontribs)

Calling editors that disagree with your edits homophobic absolutely is a personal attack, and if it's repeated you will be blocked. Given that you have all of 40 edits on this project and have been here for only a day, did it not occur to you to read the messages others have been posting and discussing the reasons for the reverts with them as opposed to personally attacking them? -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:13, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ponyo, I have tried to discuss. I fixed my earliest edits to fit the standard and these editors still deleted my additions with no cause. Their only cause is that one of them has accused me of "soapboxing" LGBTQ issues. All I posted was a fact: Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon appear in a queer history podcast.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Diaphena2010 (talkcontribs)

If you're in a content dispute then you need to start a discussion on the relevant talk pages to see if there is consensus for your edits. See this guide to dispute resolution. Also please sign your posts using four tildes (like this: ~~~~).-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:33, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Further, it doesn't seem the dispute is so much that you were soapboxing LGBTQ issues as promoting a podcast. We don't care what the orientation of the podcast is: we don't allow promotion of them through outright link addition or sneaky reference addition. —C.Fred (talk) 21:29, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Every person that piles onto this argument is clearly not reading the full history here: I fixed my earliest edits to fit the standard and these editors still deleted my additions with no cause. Their only cause is that one of them has accused me of "soapboxing" LGBTQ issues. All I posted was a fact: Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon appear in a queer history podcast. Diaphena2010 (talk) 21:48, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please point to the specific edit summary or talk page message where they say that soapboxing LGTBQ issues is the only problem with your edits. —C.Fred (talk) 21:56, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in (a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Doug Weller talk 10:03, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you continue with insults and don't ask for help, my experience with over 220,000 edits tell me that such editors get blocked from editing. One last suggestion, take your concerns to Wikipedia:Help desk. Doug Weller talk 19:29, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't mind getting blocked (Redacted) Blocking my account will only prove the systemic homophobia among Wiki editors.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Diaphena2010 (talkcontribs)

Only in your mind. You've been spamming a podcast. Doug Weller talk 10:50, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
