Welcome

Hello, Diane.marina, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Diane Marina, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi, I am an author and tried to make a page with my bio and my body of work. I don't understand why that was deleted?

Hi Diane. It's not a good idea to write about yourself or about subjects you're closely affiliated with. This is because you have an inherent conflict of interest. The reason why the page was deleted in this instance was that it didn't assert why the subject of the article (i.e. you) would meet the guidelines for inlcusion. It's already quite hard for newcomers to really understand how these guidelines work, and the inherent conflict of interest makes it even harder to do so. While it's not strictly disallowed, it's definitely frowned upon. I strongly advice you not to write about yourself. That said, if you want more information about creating a new article, it might be a good idea to look at our guide for writing your first article and the article wizard. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Diane.marina

edit

A tag has been placed on User:Diane.marina requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 23:10, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, User:Diane.marina/Diane Marina

edit

Hello Diane.marina. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Diane Marina".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Diane.marina/Diane Marina}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 12:38, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
