About Dogs

edit

From the German Wikipedia, I'm Corvus coronoides. You're right about different sources saying different things about whether or not dogs are carnivores or omnivores. There is a lot of debate right now about this, and the scientific community does not appear to have reached a consensus on this point. Corvus coronoides talk 00:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE:Thanks

You're welcome. About my accounts in other Wikipedias, I just simply keep my name in those places, I seldom go to those that I don't know the language. I use to turn up in this English Wikipedia, the Malay Wikipedia, the Chinese Wikipedia, Meta-Wiki, and sometimes the Indonesian Wikipedia.

Btw I don't have a bot. I don't know how to make one! --Edmund the King of the Woods! 11:15, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... it seems that you need some time to study the infrastructure of Wikipedia... Actually both of us have many more to learn. Bots are all computer operaring, that's why they work much faster than how we do, but there are manually-assisted bots too. Don't you have a bot in the Malay Wikipedia?
Sockpuppets are simply another accounts of someone, also called "alternative accounts". They are just like any other accounts, human-operated. Many people here misuse their sockpuppets for vandalism, edit war, multiple voting, etc. I actually have one here, but now I regret for creating it, that is User:Edmundkh, created after I've changed my name here. Can't you remember I have some sockpuppets in the Malay Wikipedia for experimental purpose? --Edmund the King of the Woods! 15:01, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your info. But do you mean that I may for example change my username in the Japanese Wikipedia into the Kana script of my name? If so, I won't do it, because I want to use the same name in everywhere. For translation, OK, I'll be careful. Thanks. --Edmund the King of the Woods! (talk) 08:46, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I find it much easier to type in Latin alphabets, and if I want to type in Kana, I have to switch to the Japanese input first. And actually I can only read just a few Kana, and I don't know the language at all. Furthermore, please read the Unified login article in Meta-Wiki. The programme is, each person use one same name in all the Wikimedia Projects. The project may be launched end of this year. So I have to use one same name everywhere to join this programme. --Edmund the King of the Woods! (talk) 09:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

You may go to the Help desk to ask. Yeah, maybe some policies in other Wikipedias are translated wrongly, some even not updated! The rules in Meta-Wiki which are universal are only those for administration. The Simple English Wikipedia reallymake me sick! The Meta-Wiki Unified login programme allows non-Latin usernames, yet the Simple English Wikipedia admins are still blocking non-Latin usernames, and I've voiced up in their admin noticeboard yet nobody bothers me! --Edmund the King of the Woods! (talk) 10:07, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome. Yeah, many people seek for help there. For Meta-Wiki, you have to open an account by yourself, just like in Wikipedia. But anyone can open! You don't have to be an admin anywhere, in order to join the Meta. So I have an account there before I become an admin in the Malay Wikipedia. You can even open your account there before you open your account in a Wikimedia Project! In Meta-Wiki, the automated list for the admins there is m:Special:Listadmins. You may also read the page m:Administrators. Doesn't matter whether you ask me or the help desk... :-) --Edmund the King of the Woods! (talk) 02:10, 18 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow, how did you know my real name? But nevermind. And I never say that I'm only an admin online. Yea, I have a blog, earning through AdSense, but I'm too lazy to maintain everyday. So, until now I'm still not paid yet! :-( --Edmund the King of the Woods! (talk) 08:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Davis Contractors Ltd v Fareham Urban District Council, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lord Reid (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
