Moar userboxes!
Hrmm.. I've searched around, and posted a question, but since you have prior information reguarding scripts and userboxes, would you know how to create a userbox that counted your contributions/edits? Daedalus (talk) 06:42, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have a box and a script written by Henrik that displays an always-updated count for me, but for other users the box has to be kept updated manually. I don't think there's a way to have an auto-updating count box... Tuvok[T@lk/Improve] 16:21, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Friend box

Just noticed the friends with box on your page. While I appreciate the sentiment, I would rather that the box be used only for expressing real-life relationships. Neither of us has any idea who the other is, and I don't feel we've been conversing long enough to be considered "friends", even if conversation is the only element to a friendship. I'll be adding a note to that effect on the template's page momentarily; meanwhile, I'd be much obliged if you would remove the box with my name in it, at least for now. Thanks! Users are generally permitted to delete their own talk page contents, including warnings, WP:TALK#User talk pages although this is discouraged. I wish that this were against policy, but this has been extensively debated and is currently allowed. Deleting the comments is interpreted that they were read and understood. It is annoying when users do this, particularly disruptive users like this one as it makes it really hard to see the progression of warnings and what response to make to them. - I'm not asking for the page to remain as it is for eternity; I would just like all the messages accessible somewhere in archives, if not on the page. Having them only in the history is just not a usable archival method. And deleting previous comments from a still-ongoing conversation makes the discussion extremely hard to follow. That's why I restored the page; Lizcook replaced the entire page with a response to one of the threads on it, removing all context. - I agree with all your points. Unfortunately she is allowed to do this by policy. I won't undo anything you did but do expect her to. I have been interacting with her for a while and it IS annoying that she deletes the context and I've asked her not to, but all I can do is go over the edit history to see what others have said. What you did is fine if done once but if she reverts let it go as she is entitled to do that. My purpose in this message is not specifically about this user, just an FYI in general, in case you weren't aware of Wiki's (stupid in IMHO) policy in this type of case. --NrDg 17:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

User watchlist?

Adminship
I've been consistently impressed with your reverts and AIV reports over the past few days, and I'd like to act upon that. Would you like a RFA nomination? - I wouldn't object to a nomination at some point, certainly, but I can't take credit for all of my edits lately. I've been using huggle (by Gurch) to patrol for vandalism, and it has automatic AIV reporting. So that part isn't me. I, myself, am too lazy to do all of what the program goes through to post reports. :P
- If you still think I'd be a good admin, even without the diligence to scrape up half a dozen diffs for each vandal report, it would certainly be a welcome step. I'm just concerned how much time it'll take. From what I've read, RfAs are not something to be done lightly or halfheartedly. Comments/experiences? Huggle User Category
Hi there. I have seen that you use huggle by the fact that you have automatically updated the huggle white list(it does this when closing huggle). I was wondering if you would add the category [[Category:Wikipedians who use Huggle]] to your user page so that it fills out and we know who actually uses huggle. If you do not want to you do not have to. I am also sorry if i have already talked to you about this or you no longer use huggle but i sent it to everyone that has edited the page since mid January. - It's kind of a shame that he's missing, too; huggle has a couple bugs that should really be fixed. Such as with extending AIV reports, for example. - That sucks... it's a great tool. I just created Wikipedia:Huggle/Apply to aid in distribution, since I myself have waited weeks for a reply, still didn't get one, and now it seems the author disabled his Wikipedia email. - I was thinking about getting Huggle as a faster way to revert vandalism; but I am a little surprised that a whole lot of users are using that application right now. Yes, I know, I may have to email Gurch, but I may feel a little uncomfortable of doing that. I just wanted the program like all the other people who use it. I really do wish I had it, though. - I didn't think I was in danger of violating 3RR over edits such as this one. There were multiple other users, possibly sockpuppets (hunch, nothing more; no accusation here), making similar edits over and over, changing the perspective in the article from "the Cave Clan" to "I", which is inappropriate for encyclopedia work. - I just happened to find that image by accident. I have no idea what other images might be in their courses. Also, I do not believe I have access to the course with your image any longer, as the course was over at the quarter break.
- I will definitely keep a lookout for other questionable images, and if I come across any that I can confirm I will take screenshots.

- Well, it's been a while since you left this message, and I honestly don't remember what I thought was wrong with it. It looks like I started (or was simply the first participant in by chance) a chain of reversions of that exact edit, from several other users. Eventually, it was rephrased and added again in the latest revision to the article. So I wasn't the only person who disagreed with that particular expression of the new content; I just can't say what exactly told me to revert it. Sorry!
- As for reverting your questions here, I see in the diffs that the first one was entirely out of context and unsigned, and the second one asked if I am a bot. (Yes, I could have said no and left it at that, but bots don't revert their talk pages, so...) This third one had a diff link, which made me ignore it instead of reverting. Remember when you helped me set up that status tab? Well, I recently joined the CVU, and added myself to the status box thing. I was wondering if you could help me modify the status changer link script so that it changes more pages, specifically, besides changing the page it currrently changes, I would also like to modify it to alter this page. I would like the 'in' link to blank the page, therefore telling statusbot that I am here, and I would like the 'busy', 'out', and 'wikibreak' links to add anything to the page, for the sake of simplicity, one could just have it insert the line 'busy' to the page, therefore telling status bot that I am well, busy.

- I just whipped it up in the last 45 minutes or so, mostly looking up window.open() documentation (I hate new windows, but couldn't think of a better way to do this off-hand). star trek image on user page

- So far as I know, there is no way to get a copy of that image that is free to use, unless the rights owners (meaning Paramount/CBS/whoever owns Trek these days) specifically publish a version that is released under a free license. All copies of images obtained from any merchandise, publications, etc. are all either licensed through specific contract with Paramount/CBS/whoever or used under Fair Use. I wish it were otherwise, but AFAIK all Star Trek logos and insignia are copyrighted. Tuvok[T@lk/Improve] 17:58, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

I've decided to fork off your rollback summary script so I can make a few changes to the version I'm running. I assume you won't mind, but if you would prefer to keep your script all on one page, just let me know and I'll ask for the deletion of the version in my userspace. - I'm done making the main change I wanted to make to the script. You can see it at User:Pyrospirit/rollbacksummary.js. I took an idea from User:Gracenotes/rollback.js and added to it. In the summary prompt,
/\$u(ser)?/iis replaced with the username of the editor being reverted; likewise,/\$re?v(ert|v)? */iis replaced with an expanded version similar to the default rollback summary. That means that a summary such as "$rv Possible [[WP:SPAM|linkspam]] issues. $u, please see the talk page." could be used to avoid extra typing and closely mimic the default rollback summary and/or the undo feature. Degrassi
Hi. An update on the Degrassi TNG articles: each season now has it's own page, and each one is also Featured. I started a discusson at List of Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes#Summaries regarding the need of summaries on the main episode page now they're all there on the season articles. A few other episode FLs have also removed them in favor of putting them on season articles. I was really bold and made the change once already, but a user who had never edited the article reverted it a few days later. Now I'm seeking a consensus, and as a contributor to that page, would appreciate your view on it.

- I'm coming by here more often than I was a couple months ago. Getting better at balancing things. :-) I left a short comment on the talk page. Having been out of touch for so long, it was difficult to form an opinion based on what was happening, so I just took existing facts and put them together with my gut feelings. Is is passable? - I haven't looked into it much myself, but I found a tutorial-type site with a quick Google search, and I posted a question on my Twitter account. I might get a better answer from that.
