Throughbred racing project edit

A number of Wikipedians have come together and formed the WikiProject Throughbred racing to help to expand and better organise information in articles and categories related to the sport of thoroughbred racing. As a past contributor to horse racing articles, we invite you to consider becoming a participant in the project, and/or adding the page to your watchlist so that you become aware, and can join any future horse racing discussions, which may be of interest to you. Edward R. Murrow edit

It looks like at some point in the past you did significant work on the Edward R. Murrow article, and like the topic is up your alley. Could you please see my comments at Talk:Edward R. Murrow#Several recent dubious edits? I think someone is screwing with the article, and that no one is really keeping an eye on it.

Let me know on my user talk page whether or not you are willing to take on sorting this out; if not I will try to recruit someone else (and if you can suggest someone, great). - Jmabel | Talk 00:19, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Newsday edit

Please do not add "personal observations", particularly by removing properly cited footnotes. That's one of the most strictly disallowed things in Wikipedia. Please see the policy at WP:NPOV. --69.22.254.111

Bill Todman sources? edit

Hi, in your edit to Bill Todman you mentioned a historian and "SSDI" (whatever that is). Could you add references to those under a "sources" section for the article? Yours for WP:V --Alvestrand 07:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

WRHU edit

But you were at one point directly involved. The site references many things that are NOT notable. Please review WP:NOTE. I haven't started hacking away at it yet because I am giving the author some time to come up with valid sources. But Andy Gladding, Andrew Falzon, Jamie Morris, Bruce Avery, etc are not notable individuals. If they were they'd have their own page. If you have more famous alumni like Alan Colmes, that would be acceptable. That is the first section to go. I'll give you a week to come up with sources for that section or I'll simply reduce it to a list with the notable alumni. -UWMSports (talk) 17:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not be the one to remove Wiki tags. Further removal could end up in your account being blocked for a certain amount of time. You may add whatever sources you have and write a note on the WRHU discussion page. We will then evaluate the material and render a decision. I'm sorry to say but audio recordings really don't really do too much. Unless you can have that imported onto the Hofstra/WRHU site and have its authenticity proven. -UWMSports (talk) 15:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dave Mock edit

Not relevant. Dave Mock might be well known in the broadcasting field for behind the scenes work, but he is not a notable human being. Sorry, Wikipedia is not a place for personal biographies of friends of yours. -UWMSports (talk) 15:48, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

And based on your user name, I believe you ARE Dave Mock. No autobiographies. Take a refresher course in Wikipedia:Autobiography. -UWMSports (talk) 18:29, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please stop reverting edits. Take your concerns to the appropriate talk page, and you may want to take a refresher in WP:Civil before posting. Further reverts will result in warnings, account suspension, and ultimately account deletion. That effects your IP Address as well, so tread carefully from here on out. -UWMSports (talk) 19:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

email correspondance edit

Hello, Dave,
Now that I've found your user page, this would be the appropriate venue to discuss your concerns. Aside from the obvious implications that any conflict-of-interest edits generate, the bottom line support you need for your edits is to cite strict verifiable, reliable sources. Also, be careful that you do not sythesize information into your own conclusions and keep the tone strictly neutral. Remember that information should be directly relevant to the page which you are editing. Too much off-topic editing may result in your information simply being deleted. Try finding more relevant articles into which you might include your information.

Also, please read the above links carefully, disregarding any negative reactions, to see what sort of information is included here, and why some is not.

Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Dfmock! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 938 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
