Welcome! edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Gary A. Rendsburg edit

Hi. Where did all the facts in this article come from (especially all the prose in the Career section)? On Wikipedia, all facts contained in an article must be verifiable back to a reliable source. This is especially true when the article is a biography about a living person. Your article only cites one source, which is affiliated with the subject. What other sources did this information come from? If the content is your personal knowledge about Rendsburg, that is not published in third-party sources, it is not appropriate for Wikipedia. --Nick—Contact/Contribs 07:44, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Gary A. Rendsburg.JPG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. File permission problem with File:Gary A. Rendsburg.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gary A. Rendsburg.JPG, which you've attributed to www.shelleykusnetzphotography.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 07:36, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Gary.website.Sept 2008.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gary.website.Sept 2008.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

April 2018 edit

  Hello, I'm 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:10, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Devorahanna. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:10, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Juliet Sorensen, you may be blocked from editing. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:17, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 00:05, 27 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

ANI notice edit

  There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 01:14, 27 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Final warning edit

Hello, Devorahanna. You need to respond to the COI message abobve before you edit either Gillian Sorensen or Juliet Sorensen again, or you will be blocked. Also, please stop inserting promotional content in one article and removing well-sourced criticism from the other. I'm assuming this misleading edit summary was a simple mistake. Bishonen | talk 08:56, 27 April 2018 (UTC).Reply

Minor edits edit

  Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. --John (talk) 11:15, 28 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

now I see edit

"has had a long career working"? Sheesh. Far too promotional, even if supported by RS. You need to not use such promotional, gushy, promo-puff-up language. Please do not turn it into a puff piece.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:20, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

May 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for ignoring all questions and warnings above. I told you on 27 April, under the header "Final warning", that you need to respond to the COI message higher up before you edit either Gillian Sorensen or Juliet Sorensen again, or you will be blocked. Per the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use, you must disclose if somebody is paying you to edit; see, again, WP:PAID. You have ignored this, and therefore you have been blocked. Letting some time pass before you start on the articles again is no substitute for engaging with questions mandated by the terms of use. Nor is editing logged out.[1].
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bishonen | talk 22:24, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
