License tagging for Image:Tekken5DR.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tekken5DR.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for your contribution! Images turn wikipedia from a great encyclopedia to a spectacular encyclopedia. Please try to add the correct image tags to the images you upload - there's a link above for a list. For covers of video games, the tag is gamecover. (with {{}} around it) Thanks, and happy editing! Orphaned non-free media (Image:DGIBBSAAWHWHHWWW.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:DGIBBSAAWHWHHWWW.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:21, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:RonaldoPreGame.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:RonaldoPreGame.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 05:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problems with File:Alipio.jpg edit

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Alipio.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://alipioduarte.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/alipio2-300x192.jpg. As a copyright violation, File:Alipio.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Alipio.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:Alipio.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at File talk:Alipio.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:Alipio.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 05:27, 16 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

RE: Goal 3 edit

Sure, sorry about reverting the Joe Cole thing too. Anyway, if you would like to add a "Critical Reception" section, I encourage you to do so, just using more reliable sources, not forums with random people. For an example see this one. It uses sources such as the "Rotten Tomatoes" website, Metacritic, other magazines and newspaper critics, Roger Ebert, etc. Bmg916Speak 14:20, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was probably so terrible that even the critics didn't even bother post reviews, ha. On a personal note - thanks, I've seen the first two, but now I definitely won't bother with this one. Bmg916Speak 14:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
The first one actually turned me into a Newcastle fan. I didn't really have a favorite team in England before then. I've been a fan of Bayern though since 1998. I enjoyed the second movie, I don't really have a favorite Spanish league club, though I expect Real to win La Liga this year with all their recent acquisitions. But again, thanks, I'll definitely avoid the third one now. Bmg916Speak 14:45, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

RE: New York? edit

Yes, I am from New York, and soccer does exist here, haha. Definitely not as popular as in Australia though. I've never been to Australia, but it's definitely on my list of places I need to get to in my life. I've been to Boston a lot (I have relatives out there too) but I'm still a Yankees fan :-). I have a lot of friends who are Red Sox fans though. I think Yankees/Red Sox is the greatest rivalry in all of sports. I enjoy watching The King play, but I am still a disgraced and disgruntled Knicks fan. Bmg916Speak 14:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Oscar Javier Nieto edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Oscar Javier Nieto, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Fair use rationale for File:Lebron_sicover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lebron_sicover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 09:19, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Forget it, dude, I saw the English site (which is terrible) and the list. Normally, the roster is for first teamers with a separate section for reserve players who are named in each game list (La Liga). Antonio can't wear 25 in a La Liga match because he is a reserve player. Raul17 (talk) 21:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
