Proposed deletion of WATCH Disney XD

edit

The article WATCH Disney XD has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of significance given.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WATCH Disney XD until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Dennis Brown |  | WER 23:12, 15 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • When we speak of "notability" and "significance", we are speaking directly about the policy WP:GNG, which is the criteria for inclusion. Unless a topic passes the criteria there, it is generally excluded from a dedicated article. Dennis Brown |  | WER 23:14, 15 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your addition to WATCH Disney XD has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Also, Commons is not a place to upload copyright images; I have flagged your images as such for using incorrect copyright rationales. Nate (chatter) 03:08, 16 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WATCH Disney XD, you may be blocked from editing. -→Davey2010→→Talk to me!→ 01:22, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Adding to Davey's warning above, do not remove others comments because it "makes you mad". Okay? --AmaryllisGardener talk 02:01, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • I know this is all a bit confusing, but there are a lot of laws that stop us from just copying images or text from one website to another. If this was your personal webpage or a blog, or a facebook page, no one would care. Because this is Wikipedia (one of the biggest websites there is), then the law actually does matter and we can't allow copying whole sections of text or images. It is really against the law to do so. I know the "policies" and such seem overwhelming at times, but you have to trust that some people actually understand the policies, even if you don't yet. It is common for new users to have difficulty starting new articles because of this, which is why it is better to learn Wikipedia by editing articles that already exist, by adding material, adding references, etc. Wikipedia isn't that hard to learn but it does take more than one afternoon of editing. I suggest using the WP:Teahouse if you have questions about anything here. They are good people, they understand the policies and are always willing to point you in the right direction or just give an opinion. Dennis Brown |  | WER 14:40, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
