Got it, so you need a TOC or Table of contents, for that your article should have atleast 3 sections == Section == .
Alternatively, you can put the "magic" word _TOC_ on top, and it will create a TOC forcefully(it's not a recommended approach although!)
I hope it'll help!

Critical minimum effort theory (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Both "wikify" and "cleaning up" are rather vague terms, but I think the editor who added this message box was thinking about grammar and punctuation, excess whitespace, headings in ALL CAPITALS, the bare URL showing as reference 3, and the lack of blue links to other Wikipedia articles.
BUT you will see that I have removed most of the text as a copyright violation. You had copied it almost word-for-word from a textbook, which is not acceptable here. Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:12, 6 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I have undone your changes to Lindahl tax for the same reason. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:28, 6 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lindahl tax edit

Hey Devanshi!

You are allowed to take stuff from a book or site, but you need to rephrase it, and put references to avoid copyright violation issue.

You can get your article back from the "View History" page, and try to locate by date you made changes or before it got deleted.

Unfortunately you can not nominate your article for DYK, because it's not complying with DYK Guidelines. But there's a good news, you can nominate your article for a Good Article and later on for Featured Article. But before you go ahead and nominate your article for GA(Good Article), try to add images, references etc and make it some sort of complete and afterwards proceed with the nomination.

Numbers wise:

"Currently, of the 3,730,738 Wikipedia articles, presently 12,743 are categorized as good articles (about 1 in 293), most of which are listed below. An additional 3,374 are listed as featured articles (about 1 in 1,110) and 2,112 as featured lists (about 1 in 1,770). Articles are only included on one list, so when a good article is promoted to featured status, it is removed from the good articles list. Adding good and featured articles and lists gives a total of 18,229 articles (about 1 in 205)"

Cheers,

Ram (talk 14:15, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

OKAY, thank you:) your suggestions really help!!! i will try working towards the "good article." but we have to put up our articles for DYK, as a part of one of our assignment deadlines, so what should i do about that? Devanshi tripathi (talk) 16:10, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Devanshi! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramshankaryadav (talkcontribs) 17:43, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
In regards to putting your article for "DYK" for class timelines I think you need to have a word with your Prof and honestly tell this problem that why you can't put it for "DYK" now. I'm sure he/she will understand the situation, if it's not happening, let me know I'll pitch in!

Hey, Ambassador edit

Soham here. I know, most of the deadlines involved nominating ourselves for DYK and doing basic edits. Basic edits I've done, and nominating our articles for DYK is not really possible, I don't know why they've asked us to. I'll make the deadlines don't worry :) Nice to see you on wikipedia! Thumbnail size edit

Hey Devanshi! To increase the size of thumbnails all you need to do is to specify the width and height in pixels.
for eg. [[File:Lindahl.jpg|thumb|500px|500px|Person 1's demand curve]],
the 500px after thumb| is width followed by height, px stands for pixels. One suggestion is not to stack images, so you can put some on left, some on right and rest if you like on center. I've done it for first two images in your article, have a look and apply it on other images.

One more suggestion, in Person 1 demand curve image you can corp the white space so that it won't take much space.

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 05:26, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copyright images edit

Lindahl tax - REVIEW ;) edit

It's shaping up amazingly well! Few points to make it awesome:

  • Adding more equations and making equations Bold and bigger
  • Adding bullet points if possible
  • Adding more figures if possible
  • Adding a infobox, for e.g., {{Taxation}}

Other than the points stated above, this article is fantastic!!!

Keep the good work!

Hi Devanshi, You are doing great work on both of these articles. I just went through both of them and following are my observations.

  • Lindahl tax - Its coming up very well, few references have been used. Writing style is good.
  • Critical minimum effort theory - This too is coming up well but missing references and citations. Writing style again is good.

Keep up the good work.

Please drop in a line for any other queries.

Critical minimum effort theory Review edit

Hey Devanshi!

Thanks :)

Few suggestions for your article Critical minimum effort theory...

  • Put a reference for the book "Economic Backwardness and Economic Growth"
  • link Malthusian theory of population with ... Thomas Robert Malthus theory of population
  • Lead section is quite weak, you need to put more details there to create inquisitiveness to read further.
  • try to link the highlighted words
  • DON'T USE ALL CAPS!!!

Infobox and the Economics Sidebar are looking great!

It needs some more efforts but it will surely look great!

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 15:14, 14 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reply to you Query edit

Hi Ram, one student wants to work on a theory, theory of development, on which no article exists as of now. it is quite a big theory and there is sufficient matter in it and references as well. the theory has been given by schumpeter, the problem is that there already exists a very good article on schumpeter, so can she create a new article? or does she have to add to the already existing article on schumpeters? just check and let me know soon, she needs to start working on her article :) Joseph Schumpeter Devanshi tripathi (talk) 06:40, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Devanshi!
I think she can go ahead with "The Theory of Economic Development", I didn't find any related article for that and it seems that ample resources are available on net for it.
I'll suggest her to add a new section on Schumpeter's article on "The Theory of Economic Development" and put a link stating main article which redirect it to her article(I hope it's not confusing!).
Tell her best of luck from me as well!

Hey Devanshi!

First of all a big CONGRATS! for nominating your article for GA(Good Article). The next step is to wait, coz someone will pick and review your article and if he/she finds it good as well it would be promoted as a Good Article.

In case if the reviewer suggests some improvement, we'll do it and again put a new nomination.

I'm really happy and proud at this moment :)

GA Review of Lindahl Tax edit

Hi Devanshi!

First of all I'm happy that your article got comment from Kiefer, all I'll say is to do the suggested changes and send it for another round of review. Kiefer seems to be a economist, and I can't challenge his review, but if you adhere with his suggestions we'll end up with an awesome article indeed!

It's a learning curve for you as well!

Secondly, I want you to put your name off from the reviewer of "Robinson Crusoe Economy" and let it to be reviewed by someone who's as good as Kiefer. Don't feel bad about this but at the end we'll get another awesome article which got reviewed by a subject matter expert.

Thank you for your kind welcome of me as on-line ambassador. Please encourage the students you assist to edit actively and call on me freely. Our experience with mentoring has been that users who edit actively and communicate freely with other users generally do better. I am in the United States in the Mountain Daylight Time Zone; this is close to -12 to your students, so please substitute AM for PM, and vice-versa when considering whether I am "available". The main problem, of course, is that I am often doing something else rather than monitoring email, irc, or Wikipedia. Wikipedia email is the most useful and convenient way of contacting me, with a note on my talk page a close second, although I do monitor irc and will eventually notice messages to me there. Hi Devanshi! It seems Shailaja has not done the referencing through Cite->Templates. The mistake she has done most probably is by using the "Reference" button instead of going through Cite->Templates.

Just tell her to do it in this way and it will work.

PS: Tell her to remove all the <ref> </ref> first before doing the referencing.

I hope it helps.

Request reason:

I understand Wikipedia policies and make sure it will not happen again

Decline reason:

Leaving aside the fact that your unblock request is woefully inadequate, this account is blocked as a result of a checkuser investigation. As a result, you will need to appeal to the Arbitration Committee, rather than on this page. Yunshui  10:42, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have understood that any kind of promotions or advertising on Wikipedia is not allowed. I also now know that usernames should not be promotional or include the name of any company etc.

I have edited Wikipedia with 3 usernames:

user: Devanshi tripathi user: Watchshrinews user: Hindisamachar

I have been associated with Wikipedia for a long time now and wish to continue this association. I am well aware of the Wikipedia policies, I had somehow overlooked the username policy and had no intention of putting up any promotional articles on Wikipedia. I now completely understand why I was blocked and shall not repeat it again. I will instead try to be helpful in contributing to Wikipedia by editing articles in the right way and in accordance to Wikipedia policies. Please consider my unblock request.

Decline reason:

Clearly you do not understand wikipedia policies, at least those related to sockpuppetry. Multiple account usage is allowed, but editing the same article using more than one account is almost always forbidden. Why do you feel the need for more than one account?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:57, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I do understand now, that sockpuppetry is not allowed. I want to state here that I had no intention of vandalism, or portraying myself as someone else, or using hidden identity. Whatever happened was the result of ignorance. But I have gone through the various pages on Wikipedia about blocked users, I have read and understood exactly what kind of things aren't allowed, including promotional usernames, sockpuppetry, etc. I do not wish have multiple accounts on Wikipedia, its just this user account user: Devanshi tripathi, I wish to get unblocked. Please consider my apology. I ensure that repetition of such acts will not happen.Devanshi tripathi (talk) 11:55, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

As per the very first unblock decline, this is a checkuser block, and you CANNOT be unblocked using this process. You MUST contact the Arbitration Committee to request unblock. Please do not make further unblock requests in this manner, or it will be necessary to lock this page (✉→BWilkins←✎) 10:24, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
