Welcome!

Hello, DeerChelsea, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Formatting with an article

edit

Hi! I saw where you'd posted a question to the Q&A board. (This one was anonymous, but the other one was the same and posted by you.) I hope that the answer that I posted would be of some help.

In any case, I saw that one of the things you were concerned about was formatting. I was wondering if you would like some help on this end, which I can provide. I did some of the formatting of the first paragraph, which you added to your sandbox. The easiest way to ensure that you get all of the markup language (this makes the bolded content and the links to other articles, for example) is to just cut and paste the content while you are in edit mode on your sandbox using Visual Editor. I believe that you've gone through the general student training, but if you like you can find a general user's guide of VisualEditor at WP:VE/UG.

I'll be helping out with your class, so don't hesitate to ask me any questions that you may have! You can send me a notification to come to your userpage by writing {{ping|Shalor (Wiki Ed)}} with your response. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 09:16, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
