Your only sources were the The California Eagle and Los Angeles Sentinel. Please cite a variety of sources demonstrating notability rather than a big list of sources from the same two newspapers during the same era. If you think your article subject is notable, then you need to demonstrate notability using more sources. Additional press mentions, history books, and others could be good. You might be able to get some more references from related articles. Also it would help to follow Wikipedia's Manual of Style at WP:MOS.
