September 2013 edit

Hello, I'm EvergreenFir. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to University of Calgary seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Also, please do not copy-paste copyrighted material EvergreenFir (talk) 04:28, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to University of Calgary. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. You cannot copy-paste material from a copyrighted source. Moreover, that source is promotional. EvergreenFir (talk) 15:32, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to University of Calgary. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Please don't regurgitate the university's promotional fluff into an encyclopedic article. NeilN talk to me 16:56, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re: I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and why you keep deleting my edits edit

The problem is that (1) we don't know if you have permission, (2) you have a conflict of interest, and (3) the text on those pages is promotional, not encyclopedia and neutral. Basically, you're not neutral and there are copyright issues. Please read the following to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies: WP:NPOV, WP:SOAP, WP:COI. The Teahouse (linked above) can help you out with questions you might have or you can ask here. Cheers. EvergreenFir (talk) 21:00, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
