Welcome

edit

Hello, Deanthegreen, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Dougweller (talk) 20:08, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Druid, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 04:56, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

My welcome message pointed you to WP:Verify - have you read it? You offered no sources at all. Also you might benefit from WP:OR before you edit again. And I hate to heap all this on you as you are new, but you should also read WP:3RR so that you don't inadvertently get yourself in trouble. I appreciate what you are trying to do but you need to follow our guidelines and policies as you edit, and you aren't alone in not understanding them with your first edits, so don't be discouraged.   Please do not attack other editors, which you did here: Druid. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you continue with your revert-warring and personal attacks,[1] your ability to edit the encyclopedia will be removed. Also, I believe what you were attempting to say was, póg mo thóin.
