File permission problem with File:MinkBrarpic.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:MinkBrarpic.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 19:24, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Sapna Bhavnani.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sapna Bhavnani.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 12:37, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sana Khan edit

Dear Dealtrodd, good to see that you are working hard on Sana Khan's page. I have just helped you by cleaning up, correcting and improving that page. You need to understand that! I have not removed any important, necessary biographical details from the page, in fact I have removed hardly any text from your version, you may check that again. Below I explain what exactly I changed and why I did so:

  • sanakhan.org, a fansite, has been used to verify a claim. I replaced it with Times of India, a very reliable and notable source.
  • too many unneeded sub-sections; she has appeared in one music video and in two TV shows, you don't need to create separate sections for those. Everything related to her film career is put together in career, everything else like her television shows, ads and music videos has been included in other works section. That's much better and neater, too. Again the text has not been changed at all!
  • I have replaced a (useless) apunkachoice link (that doesn't even make a mention of Sana!) with a source from The Telegraph!
  • Removed articles from cinecurry.com and kollytalk.com; both are highly unnotable, unreliable sources!
  • Gaganam / Payanam is a bilingual film, it's exactly the same film shot in Telugu and Tamil. Therefore "Yet another high-jack thriller" makes no sense!
  • Italic type is used for films, check WP:ITALIC.
  • Don't use bulleted lists (like you did in controversies section!).
  • I removed the redundant references section at the very end of the page.

It seems you don't even have tried to compare both versions. If you did, you would notice that no important text has been removed, that I rather included some interesting claims and added better sources. Don't revert everything again with one click please! If you have any objections or any questions, please talk me. Anyway, keep up the good work and continue editing! Johannes003 (talk) 18:16, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok, these are minor issues. They are both Muslims and/or both Malayalis? It's not clear from the source. If you know better, correct it and if possible add a (reliable!) source that supports the claim. You may further improve the article. Johannes003 (talk) 15:07, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

In response to a content dispute between you and User:Joahnnes003, I've fully protected the article on Sana Khan for a week. File source problem with File:Vishal Karwal.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Vishal Karwal.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. name of victim edit

Hi Dealtroadd,

I noticed you added the names of the victims to the article 2012 Delhi gang rape and the note "THE VICTIM'S FAMILY HAS GIVEN PERMISSION FOR THE NAMES TO BE RELEASED". Do you have a source indicating that this is the case? Since this has been controversial, I've erred on the side of caution and reverted for now. Replaceable fair use File:Elli Avram.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Elli Avram.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Edit war warning edit

Your recent editing history at Sana Khan shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

I suggest you begin reading the policies and start making edits that are appropriate to a formal encyclopedia and not a celebrity gossip magazine. You can revert yourself now. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:38, 26 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Superdude (TV series) edit

The article Superdude (TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:NTV and WP:GNG. Tagged for notability since 2013

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
