Delaware Valley Orienteering Association edit

I have reverted your edits to Delaware Valley Orienteering Association. Your edits were very promotional in nature and some of them were copy and pasted from the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association website and that is not allowed. Finally some of your edits appear you are trying to turn this into a website for the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association. This is an encyclopedia and we don't list starting times for events. In general, there may be a more constructive way to address your concerns than to revert all the edits--if you have a problem with a particular section, please edit it or remove it. I do not see the constructive value of deleting everything--the intent was to be complete, and the final version was better than what was there before and what you left there now. If you have a problem with posting what the organization's hours are (and have been for four decades), that is a judgement call and can be removed. The mission statement and introductory section is from DVOA website with permission of officers. The bulk of the article is original.

I wasn't going to sift through everything you did to find what could be saved. As far as the stuff you copy and pasted we would need to have official confirmation from the Association it has released the prose with a compatible license before it can be added to the article. Information on how to do that can be found here, Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. GB fan 03:09, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Delaware Valley Orienteering Association Logo.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Delaware Valley Orienteering Association Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:03, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
