Vivian Rosewarne

Hi David. I have redirected Vivian Rosewarne to an existing article on the subject. We try to avoid having more than one article on any one subject and, when a person is famous for one thing, we have a policy of normally making the article about the thing rather than the person. At the moment the article is mostly about the film but you can add some material to it covering the other aspects. You can still retrieve your text from the history, so you won't need to rewrite it all again from scratch. Remember that you do need to make sure that what you add is referenced to reliable sources for verifiability. That means that any inside information you have from personal knowledge or your own research can't be included unless you can find something published to reference it to. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:33, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ah. I see you already undid it. I think that the article is quite likely to get deleted as it stands unless you can establish notability separate from the letter. I would recommend that you transfer some of your content to the other article and then redirect it. I won't redirect it again myself. I will tag it for merge instead. That will give other people a chance to give their comments. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:36, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

David, welcome to Wikipedia. You're saying that the images used come from Keith's own copy of his book, but the author status on two of the images as you have posted them on Commons has youself as author and the copyright status as being authors death plus 70 years - so unless you are posting from beyond the grave, there's an incompatibility. Wikipedia and Commons, even more, are very strict about copyright so can you clarify how the appropriate copyright to use the photos exists? If the author of the all three was Rosewarne's mother then it needs to say that (and has she been dead since 1940?). If she is the author and hasn't been dead for 70 years the copyright will belong to her heir(s), if this is you not a problem but make the copyright tag {{PD-heirs}}. If you aren't the heir then written consent of the heir will be needed. I'm really sorry to raise this as I love to see old photos like this used but like I say the Wikimedia foundation is very, very strict about copyright.

On the question of should these two articles be merged, I'm in favour of merger as Rosewarne isn't notable for any other reason. NtheP (talk) 14:18, 22 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
