Hi Curb Safe Charmer, we've only just seen this, thanks for the message. I've just replied on a Talk page but not sure where or if you'll get it! Essentially we are novices, can I retrieve the original page submitted and deleted, to correct it and resubmit please?
Thanks David Harding-Brown (talk) 12:41, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Copyrighted material is considered prohibited content, and will not be restored. Also, who is 'we'? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 13:47, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Curb Safe Charmer, this draft page was created by the Suffolk Cat Association (SCA) in UK. We are an official Cat breed society and we are officially affiliated to the GCCF, who I think you cite as the source of the copyrighted material? In fact most of the copy on the GCCF website was written by the SCA and provided to them, so is our copyright! We are not asking for the material to be restored or published if you think it infringed copyright, we are only asking to be able to retrieve it to produce another version that would be acceptable. We have nothing! 213.18.140.155 (talk) 13:52, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia can only exist if people who contribute text to the project follow the applicable copyright laws. There is no way that Wikipedia will restore/retrieve the material. Please read WP:MYTEXT, and to find out what steps you can take, see WP:DONATETEXT.
You being a representative of an official society doesn't help matters - it means you have a conflict of interest in writing the article. Please read WP:COI and follow the instructions there. Furthermore, use of Wikipedia to promote your association (the word 'promote' is taken broadly) is not compatible with Wikipedia's purposes, so any article you write would have to be written very carefully to avoid any sense that you are seeking to publicise the association.
