Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. 331dot (talk) 17:00, 22 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Content requires references

edit

You have added content to close to a dozen articles. In each instance you did not provide a citation. All of your additions have been reversed (by me and several other editors). Content may be true, but cannot be added to Wikipedia articles unless there are published sources cited. As noted on your declined draft, this will require understanding proper reference format. See Help:Referencing for beginners for guidance. In the table, none of the ship's names should be hyperlinked to the Bruzelius listing. Nor should there be any other hyperlinking within an article (allowed in External Links). David notMD (talk) 19:08, 22 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks - I will continue working on the Killick article and remove the offending links. As to the other edits, I'm confused? I certainly added sources to the Roy of The Rovers section ( Mick Collins unauthorised biography) and the guitar information came from The Guitar and Amp Sourcebook by Mike Abbott which has been cited by other contributors? --David Almond 1968 (talk) 15:00, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I'm confused? I have an external links section already (section 3). Should I move that in its entirety to the end of the article? Thanks, David --David Almond 1968 (talk) 13:56, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I think i now understand. I've removed the links from the main text (including wikipedia pages) and moved the external links to the end. Is this now OK? David --David Almond 1968 (talk) 14:22, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I've now removed all the links to other wiki pages. From the guidelines I now feel the remaining external links fulfil the desired criteria - if not, please let me know which ones don't - Thanks --David Almond 1968 (talk) 11:17, 2 April 2019 (UTC) @WikiDan61:Reply

It's not clear what "desired criteria" you hope to fulfill by the external links you've included; they don't appear to have any obvious connection with Killick Martin & Company. And you still haven't provided any inline citations to verify any of the information you've provided. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:51, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've now added two notable sources - The Hing Kong History Museum and The National Maritime Museum in the reference section --David Almond 1968 (talk) 13:58, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've added three more sources showing how notable the company was and how important they are too historians, including referencing Benjamin Disraeli and the National Trust --David Almond 1968 (talk) 13:58, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Is there any more I can do? Thanks --David Almond 1968 (talk) 13:58, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi - more independent references added, including recent pieces in the Journal of Commerce, The Red Duster (The BRM Navy) and BIFA. Additional material from the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, a court case from the National Archives, Artnet, and wreck site.eu. To avoid any commercial links I've left out any mention of auctions and the work of Montague Dawson (although they are extensive)

Please also note extra comments of the China Bird book --David Almond 1968 (talk) 15:38, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
