Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho edit

Hi there, I see you've been expanding the "Terrorism and imprisonment" section of this article. Are you planning on making any additions to the sections on the Carnation Revolution and his 1980 presidential campaign?, or are you just interested on the section you've been working on? -- asilvering (talk) 15:15, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, If you asked to, I can try to complemet also the other sessions. I have a huge amount of information regarding terrorism and imprisonment, with a lot of sources and organized information. Regarding the other subjects, I have at least enough to complemt . Nevertheless, I don´t have too much time, englsih in´t my mother language and i don´t want to monopolize this page. Please give me your toughts on it. Regards--DavidHockney321 (talk) 12:51, 16 February 2022 (UTC

@DavidHockney321 Don't worry about "monopolizing" the page! A surprising number of articles on Wikipedia have been mostly written by a single editor. With over six million articles, and now 20 years of wikipedia history... there are a lot of things around here people stopped working on years ago and forgot about. If you are worried about your language skills you can tag the article for attention (by using Template:Copy edit, for example), or ask for help on a relevant wikiproject page (in this case, WP:PORTUGAL). It would be really helpful if you could fill in some more in the other sections of the Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho page with what you have, even if it isn't all that much. Basically, what I'm concerned about now is that "terrorism and imprisonment" section of the article is "weightier" than the rest (see WP:UNDUE, especially WP:PROPORTION), which gives the impression that he didn't play a major role in the Carnation Revolution and is mostly known as a terrorist. That's a problem on its own, but additionally it becomes confusing when you read the terrorism section and see that the law/politicians are concerned about prosecuting him because of his role in the revolution. So, anything you can do to expand the context in those other sections will be very useful! -- asilvering (talk) 17:11, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@asilvering I will try to do my best and eventually ask to a 3rd party, having English as mother language, to correct any discrepancy found. Regarding Otelo´s terrorism role, it´s easier to make an impartial text due to the amount of information that was been published during 2021: one new book with a lot of attention from the media, a second one that was a re edition, dozens and dozens of articles from different newspaper saying exactly the same. Reading the other parts of the article, I understand what you pointed out and i noticed that a lot of information is still missing regarding both his role on the carnation revolution as well as during the period in between 11th March and 25th November. I would expect that someone else would fill that gap. Nevertheless, let me see how I can manage, as I would need to organize and sort both information and its references.
