July 2015 edit

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Davey Asprey. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. | Naypta opened his mouth at 11:03, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Davey Asprey, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. SuperMarioMan ( talk ) 14:21, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

@SuperMarioMan: apologies. I am very new here and still learning how all this works. We are all made of stardust. (talk) 15:12, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a social networking site, a web host for personal web pages, or a free advertising service for publicising yourself and your work. Your self-promotional article has now been deleted four times. Please don't create it again: if you do, you may well be blocked from editing. @JamesBWatson: I am working on behalf of one of my artists and have followed the examples laid out by his peers, who do not seem to have this issue when they have set up a wiki page? I was in the middle of editing the page to bring it within the guidelines of what a previous moderator has stated. Where am i going wrong? LloydWe are all made of stardust. For a start, one of the things you are doing wrong is "working on behalf of one of my artists", which means you have a conflict of interest, and should not be creating the article. Wikipedia is not for promoting your clients. Also, the "ping" template doesn't work unless in the edit when you post it you also add a signature by typing ~~~~ . Adding the signature in a later edit isn't good enough. 79.123.75.119 (talk) 15:14, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
thank you 79.123.75.119 for your contribution to this thread. I am not writing a promotional article, it is simply a factual account of a British artist and their accomplishments, like the thousands of other pages like it, which i see are still posted without deletion and feature identical content.
