Speedy deletion nomination of Curries Online

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Curries Online requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Sorry, Wikipedia isn't a place to post your resume! —Largo Plazo (talk) 11:42, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.Deb (talk) 11:49, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I thought my comment above explained pretty clearly why your articles were deleted. Have you looked at the Welcome page and read the guidelines? If so, and it is still unclear, you could try Wikipedia:Teahouse. Also, please remember to log in and sign your posts. Deb (talk) 14:00, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

You just asked on my talk page "Please can I have the content back so I can revise it and then re-post?" - as it says in the above templates, "If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator." - the deleting administrator in both cases was User:Deb. (I'm not an administrator.) --McGeddon (talk) 14:33, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Largoplazo: Hi there, Largoplaza. Yes I realise that wikipedia is not a place to post my resume, however I thought I was postying this information about me to my user profile? Is this not correct? Anyway, I'm still getting to grips with the rules around here so you'll have to excuse me! In the meantime can I please have the content back so that I can edit and re-post in the appropriate format? Thanks. DaveGee85 (talk) 14:36, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Right, it seems like I've gotten myself into a bit of a pickle! I apologies for anything that I have posted incorrectly, or not followed any set format, or kept to the correct communication guidelines (hopefully this message is correct?!) BUT...Can I please have the content back that was removed? I think I'm supposed to ask User:Deb for this?

Where do you post it back to please? Can you email it, or post it to my user page?

Hopefully I've got this right this time, as it sounds like you guys are getting pretty pi**ed off with me now!?...Sorry!

Thanks, DaveGee85 (talk) 14:50, 24 September 2015 (UTC)DaveGee85Reply

You can post information about yourself on your User page and that is normally okay. However, the content you posted had links to organisations you seemed to be promoting. The other article that was deleted also had promotional wording. It would probably be a good idea for you to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest as well. Just in case... Come back to me when you understand what you're doing. Deb (talk) 14:53, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Assuming you mean the curries advert, it's here now. Deb (talk) 15:11, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deb (talk) Can I also have the content about myself that I wrote please? If you could also explain how to properly tag peoples names when I'm writing either a new message or replying to one that would be great. Thank you!

I don't understand the question. Have you tried Wikipedia:Adventure yet? Deb (talk) 08:37, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
