Hi there!

I noticed that you have recently performed some contributions to Wikipedia. In your contributions, specifically pertaining to the metropolitan areas within the U.S. state of Texas, I have observed that you have added longer names than what the U.S. Office of Management and Budget has provided for those metropolitan statistical areas within that very state. Please refrain from doing such edits to those articles again (including others) as Wikipedia does not need extended MSA names which are not those provided by such a governmental institution. Thank you. - TheLionHasSeen (talk) 15:37, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Collaboration is required

edit

Repeating your edits at Greater Houston is known as edit warring and is prohibited. When a disagreement occurs, it is necessary to stop editing and discuss the issue on the article talk page (Talk:Greater Houston). As well as no edit warring, please use edit summaries so others learn what you are changing and why (briefly).

Collaboration is required at Wikipedia. If you don't want to explain your position at article talk or here at ANI, you must not repeat contested edits. I will have to block you if edit warring continues. Johnuniq (talk) 06:57, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Johnuniq (talk) 23:55, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for using an edit summary, but "Don't change after I change" is not an explanation of why the change was made (diff1 + diff2). Collaboration is not optional—you must discuss disagreements on the appropriate article talk page. When this block expires, questions can be asked at WP:Teahouse. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Repeating contested edits without discussion is not acceptable. When this block expires, please ask for assistance at WP:Teahouse because further problems will result in an indefinite block. Johnuniq (talk) 02:35, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Big Bend (Texas), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Terrell County and Jeff Davis County. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:29, 2 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for repeatedly changing articles against consensus without discussion.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Johnuniq (talk) 00:09, 15 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but I have had to issue an indefinite block because the previous two blocks have not resulted in any change. You can be unblocked by any administrator without consulting me as soon as you respond with a message indicating an understanding of the problem, with an indication of how it will be avoided in the future. The matter is relatively trivial with just a handful of edits to change city names. However, it is not reasonable that such behavior should force other editors to waste their time. See my earlier comments at #Collaboration is required above. Johnuniq (talk) 00:09, 15 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
