About you recent contributions in AEK ATHENS FC edit

. Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. You should stop adding fake titles for your team or uploading images of unknown copyright status. Please read carefully the rules of Wikipedia before you do any contributions again.--KaragouniS 10:38, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

DO NOT BLANK THE PAGE. Unofficial or unrecognized stuff CANNOT be added in Wikipedia. Remember we are not in a forum, but in a public encyclopedia. I also searched in AEK FC Site and nothing is reffered to these titles. So you should stop adding them. --KaragouniS 12:35, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I searched every possible source to see if these championships should be counted or not. And I found out that even the OFFICIAL AEK doesn't count them. As a result, they cannot be added to the article. --KaragouniS 13:59, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The fact that they are not in the official site doesn't mean they don't exist. In Panathinaikos wikipedia page (a page i see you edid regularly) it is mentioned that the club won a Panhellenic (SEGAS) Championship and a Balkan Cup but these titles aren't included in EPO's official site or even in Panathinaikos' official site. --Darth21 18:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you see on the Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation, the SEGAS titles are included. They are recognized by EPO but they are not counted as official titles. And if you see, during the WWII it is also mentioned that "no championships held; regional tournaments in Athens/Pireus in 1940/41 and 1942/43 were abandoned.". The 1941 & 1943 titles were actually local tournaments. Thats what I mean.--KaragouniS 21:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Be careful edit

The tsiartas page was written and created by me. Others have watched your little edits and let it go but we have all agreed on one thing. They are pointless and annoying. The article is starting to lose shape, both physically and information wise. Now my edit helped the article psychically (aesthetically - it looks a mess before with sections overlapping thanks to a pointless medal table). However you undid it. I was actually being kind to you before not undoing all your pointless edits, like adding a medal tables and trivia, trivia is not wanted by wiki, read guidelines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Trivia_sections and the medal table is not needed, already his medals are listed, it is surplus. Any more mucking around and i will see it like others already have, as vandalism. Reaper7 21:58, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Look, i didn't put the metal table there and i too think it is pointless. I've seen the same table in other Euro 2004 members and i thought it was put there for a reason. If you ask me it should be removed. As for my edits, i find them usefull. Darth21 17:27, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flags in infobox edit

Hi Darth, thanks for your edits to entires on Greek football players, but under WP:SOCCER guidelines, flags discouraged from being put in the infobox. Kind regards, GiantSnowman (talk) 13:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please don't insert flags like this. Apart from looking ugly, it screws up the infobox in some browsers. Rettetast (talk) 12:46, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Meetup in Athens edit

Hello! I'd like to turn the first meetup of Wikipedians in Athens, Greece to your attention. We're a group of students involving three German Wikipedia admins and have set up this meetup for March 31st, 6:00 PM (18:00). The location is (to be exspected) the Ama Lachi. We'd very much like seeing as many Wikipedians from Greece as possible. We'd also like some help with the setup of the meeting; we need a contactsman in Athens. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Giannis Arabatzis, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Yiannis Arabatzis. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

August 2008 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Yiannis Arabatzis a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 14:34, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

AEK Athens F.C. edit

Hi, the changes I made to AEK Athens F.C. are in order that the article meets the Manual of style for football club articles. When players are loaned into a club this is reflected in the "other" section of {{Fs player}} of the current squad section, and doesn't need a separate sub-section. EU internationals don't need an EU flagicon next to them as it is already stated in the sub-section's title that they are EU nationals. The flagicon is merely duplicating information in a cluttered fashion. Similarly, when using flagicons for footballers only one flag should be used unless there are exceptional circumstances. If a player has represented a national team then that is the only flag that should be used. I have left some with more than one, as it wasn't immediately clear which one to use and I didn't want to spend a lot of time looking into it. Lastly, whether a player is an international or not is not relevant to a club's article, and hence does not need to be included. If that were the case, teams such as Manchester United would have almost their entire squad repeated. Please read the guidelines before making further edits. Cheers! Dancarney (talk) 10:33, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. By having loaned players in a seperate section it can also be mentioned for how long are the going to be loaned, whether there are any restrictions and other clauses on the loan etc. As for the foreign players section you are right about the EU flamicons but I think other flamicons that represent the players' original nationality (not only the country they play for) should be included as what this section is about is the different nationalities in the squad (if you see the Real Sociedad article you will see they even iclude the Basque flamicon in some players). Now about the Internationals section I understand what you want to say by your Manchester United example but Manchster doesn't have a notable players section for about the same reason (the are too many!). Does this mean other articles shouldn't have? Cheers! Darth21 (talk) 14:22, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm going by the MoS, and also Featured Articles such as Everton F.C., as these are articles which have attained a status to which others should aspire. If a user wants to more know more details about a loaned player's loan T&Cs then they can read that individual player's article. The same goes for whether they are internationals or not. It is irrelevant to a club article, particularly for a strong team in one of Europe's better leagues where it is usual to have a majority of players with international caps. Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs states:

Per consensus on WT:WPF players who have played international games should not be bolded. This is for several reasons.

  1. For teams such as Manchester United F.C. almost every player will be bolded.
  2. Playing at an international level means different things for different countries. To play at an international level for England/Brazil is on a different scale to say the Faroe Islands or Samoa.
  3. Bolding makes no distinction between the number of caps.
  4. If the fact that they have played for the national team is notable, then it will be listed on their individual and national team articles.
  5. The current squad lists are discussing what they have done for their club and not what they have done for their country.

By using the same rationale, an International Players section must be excluded. A notable players section should only be included where there is clear rationale as to what is notable. According to WikiProject Football/Clubs this means:

Noted players of the club, who have had a major impact on the club's history. The section should use external sources for the list, not the personal opinions of editors.

See the relevant section at Everton F.C. for how this can be handled. The Real Sociedad article is not at FA standard and so cannot be used as a good guide, and as the Basque Country is not currently a FIFA-recognised country its flag should not be used. In football it is only possible to represent one country, except for in exceptional circumstances. As players are included in Wikipedia as a footballer this is the only nationality that they should be classed under. If we do not do this then, for example, 99% of English players could end up with    next to their name, as they are both English and citizens of the UK. Edinho edit

Hi there DARTH, VASCO from Portugal here,

Some questions about this Portuguese footballer: First, it was user GEORGIOS21, another big fan of AEK Athens FC, who inserted a lot of lies in the article and removed stuff in infobox. Now, i see you also do the same: he played 6 games for BRAGA A-team, not only BRAGA B, you removed it; he played for GIL VICENTE on loan, you removed it; he played no matches for VITÓRIA SETÚBAL in his early career (only for ALMADA), you removed it (please see ZEROZERO.PT link i provided below to confirm)...Why?!? I think you are Greek, but i am Portuguese and now this is the right information, please stop removing it, please.

Also (and user GEORGIOS21 also inserted some info that was not true in this section), in international career, you inserted Edinho scored for Portugal, he did not, it was an own goal, i saw the match - and inserted a reference from UEFA.COM that says the same. Please don't remove it also.

Good work, nice week, Vasco Amaral - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:05, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • UPDATE! Since i respect your work, i made some more adjustments in international career. You must see, however, that the goal was given to the South African player, not Edinho, that is what counts. Also, the infobox stats that i put now are the correct ones, please don't remove them.

Cheers, Vasco - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:27, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi there DARTH, VASCO again, ty for your nice message man. However, i think some doubts still "resist": In infobox, i said he played for BRAGA A and B after you removed stats with main team, and now you remove stats with B and leave stats with A?? It's both, my friend...He played for the reserves and the first team, i hope that's understood.

In the international career, i think you made a good reasoning, and you also inserted a REF, so i will accept your point of view, and "give" the goal to EDINHO.

Until some other "wiki-time", Vasco, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 14:01, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

AEK ATHENS vandal edit

Hi there DARTH, VASCO from Portugal here,

Just want to warn you about this AEK ATHENS vandal; if you check, for instance Arnaldo Edi Lopes da Silva's edit history, you will clearly see several anonymous IP addresses, all starting with the numbers 92; this "user" used to insert several lies in INTERNATIONAL CAREER (did it at least with Edinho, Juanfran, Gustavo Manduca and Geraldo Alves), and remove important data in INFOBOX, he also had an account, Georgios21, which did not last long, but he is very annoying. Be careful out there!!!

Take care, keep up the good work,

VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 19:11, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, darth21,

I ran accidentaly into your page as I was ready to do some edit on the AEK page.

First, about your latest conversation: 1. Fysekis' contract is being dissolved and he is free to go. 2. Pelletieri is no more an issue as he left, his passport was indeed a problem (the known scandal about the fake italian passports). Scocco is not involved in this case, as he owns a legitimate italian passport.

Now about my visiting purpose: I wanted to alter the final league positions. But as I don't want (nor have that much time) to interfere actively with the English Wiki (I'm already in the Greek and German), I think it's better be done by someone who cares more about it, as you seem to. I have already done this correction to the Greek and German AEK page. The final positions should be altered to the correct: PAO 2nd, AEK 3rd and PAOK 4th. The OFFICIAL reglement (προκήρυξη) of the Super League-Playoffs mentions this exact issue, that the Playoff rank shall REPLACE the rank earned in the regular season. For reference follow the link and read through the Article 4 (pages 4-5).

Link: http://www.superleaguegreece.net/Downloads/Invitation_Superleague_PlayOffs_2009.pdf

I wrote in English respecting the fact that this is the English section. For further questions or discussion about this issue I am always reachable (in any of my spoken languages) on my Greek page: http://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%A7%CF%81%CE%AE%CF%83%CF%84%CE%B7%CF%82:MedMan Giasou, --MedMan (talk) 09:03, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ευχαριστώ, Dimitrissss (talk) 12:13, 10 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of PSAP MVP & Best Goal 2006–07 edit

The article PSAP MVP & Best Goal 2006–07 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

All meaningful content already covered at Greek football PSAP awards, so no need for this content fork which viiolates WP:NOTSTATS anyway

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Greek help needed edit

Hello Darth21, I'm contacting you because we need some Greek translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on el.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Greek Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 18:28, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for October 3 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited AEK Athens F.C. in European football, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sean Carr (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
