Welcome!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Artarmon Public School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 333-blue 00:17, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Attribution

If you use content from another wiki article [1] always make an obvious note in your edit summary [2]: "content from article X, see X's history for attribution." Thanks, it makes tracking copyright violations much easier.--Lucas559 (talk) 19:49, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sydney, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sydney, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. AussieLegend () 14:27, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Summit Air Flight 409

The article Summit Air Flight 409 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:GNG and sufficient coverage at Summit Air (Nepal)#Accidents and Incidents

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Petebutt (talk) 12:55, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Does not meet deletion criterias, as the reason you gave further supported the existence of the article. Dark-World25 (talk) 00:56, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Ohm (Cryptocurrency) Logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Ohm (Cryptocurrency) Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:55, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Re:Bulantrisna Djelantik

Hi Dark-World25, I'm still editing the article at the moment. Could you wait a few minutes until I finished adding other information and references? Thanks, XoXo (talk) 08:48, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, I saw that it was today, but not the time. In the future, if it's a work in progress, can you use either your sandbox page or the draft namespace? It helps to stop people from getting confused. You are also free to remove any of those tags at any time. Dark-World25 (talk) 08:54, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks a lot for your suggestion. Btw, the article just had another tag while I was expanding it!(haha) Regards, XoXo (talk) 09:41, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Calamvale, Queensland

Hi Dark-World25! If you take another look at that edit, two things concerned me (and were part of the reason I reverted the edit and warned the user) were the addition of repeated 'S' letters to the end of the word "wetlands" to now become "wetlandssss", and the addition of "oh no" to the end of a sentence. This told me that this edit also contained changes that could be seen as tests, or possible vandalism by attempting to add good-faith changes alongside the others. You restored the article back, which included this content; I highly recommend either fixing those particular changes or possibly re-evaluating your reason for restoring it. Just figured I'd let you know ;-). Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:47, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

What opinion?

The content I removed is copied from seperate articles explaining seperate events why would this regarded as swaying opinions? Its the opposite diluting a article with unrelated events takes away from the articles original topic. 2A02:C7D:151D:D100:7871:7BC2:3DB8:7A1C (talk) 09:07, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello, the pact between Hitler and Stalin was called the Molotov Ribbentrop pact, though officially it is known as "Treaty of Non-aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics". Maisky couldn't be sure of "American ideological hostility", which is why I added perceived before it. --1.152.110.185 (talk) 06:48, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Sakura Genesis 2018

Hello Dark-World25. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Sakura Genesis 2018, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Easily passes WP:CCSI.Look at other deletion alternatives. Thank you. ~ Winged BladesGodric 08:40, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Daniel Figueira

Hello Dark-World25. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Daniel Figueira, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: How the heck does this fail WP:CCSI?! Thank you. ~ Winged BladesGodric 08:34, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

And, please refrain from patrolling new pages, unless you are more experienced and have a rigirous understanding of the concerned guidelines, following which you may apply at WP:PERM/NPR.Best,~ Winged BladesGodric 08:36, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
It fails the multiple criteria within WP:CCSI under all subjects; there are neither sufficient news articles to indicate that he is a notable figure, nor is there any google books article about, and neither has he been involved in a noteworthy competition in a notable way. Per WP:Notability (sports), he has not played in a Tier 1 FIFA international league either. That is why he fails WP:CCSI Dark-World25 (talk) 09:00, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
CCSI is much lower than GNG/NSPORTS.Take it to AfD, if you wish.~ Winged BladesGodric 09:19, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Well he fails both anyway so I don't see your point. Dark-World25 (talk) 09:20, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
There's no point of any comparison of CCSI with GNG/SNG.This article is utterly non-CSDable-stuff and you may ping some random admin, for their opinion. Please seek an AfD.Thanks:)~ Winged BladesGodric 12:38, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Nikhila Suman

Hello Dark-World25. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Nikhila Suman, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Had roles in major telly-serials and soaps.Obviously passes WP:CCSI. Thank you. ~ Winged BladesGodric 12:43, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

A3 speedies

Hello Dark-World25 -- I've declined a couple of your A3 tags. It's meant for articles that are literally blank, not where there's an infobox or a little information beyond the article title. Please reread the instructions at WP:A3 before applying this again. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 08:29, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Hey, some of the articles I've tagged as A3 was because it was a restate of the title. Others I will profess to being too enthusiastic, especially on ones where it's a single info-box doing little more than to provide very basic information, as for example at Dhupguri railway station, when I read the article it was literally blank, which was why I tagged it as A3. Further edits by the creator included nonsensical information such as population, and maps that didn't exist, which was why I left it on. Despite further edits, I still feel like that it should be moved to the user's sandbox/draft until it is ready for submission. Dark-World25 (talk) 09:07, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
It can be frustrating when sub-optimal articles don't meet any of the speedy criteria, I know, but there is no consensus for speedy deleting articles that consist of just an infobox. You need to stick with the letter of the speedy instructions. If the content clearly needs removal then AfD is always a possibility, or in the case of Dhupguri railway station a merge could be the answer. Or you could hope someone will expand it; there are detailed articles on many railway stations across the world. Espresso Addict (talk) 02:19, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Dark-World25. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 14:44, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy of Michael Detlefsen

I have declined this speedy; please don't tag long-standing articles on notable subjects for speedy deletion. Espresso Addict (talk) 03:31, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I was on Huggle at the time and saw the article being edited by a user by the name of Mdetlef and thought it was a recently created self-promotional autobiography, especially since that it did not have a notable number of references/sources. I do apologize for being too rash in tagging it. Dark-World25 (talk) 02:42, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

UNESCO sites in Taiwan

How was a completely opinionated statement about Taiwan activists lying just to gain independence allowed in the article yet my assertion that the UN will not stand up to China considered an opinion not widely held? Are you deliberately allowing pro-China content and removing anything anti-China. Incredible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.163.247.51 (talk) 10:00, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Melbourne Underground (Music group)

Hello Dark-World25,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Melbourne Underground (Music group) for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Regarding Speedy Deletion

Hello, Dark-World25. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but a page you created , Melbourne Underground (Music group), has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects of articles must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources which are unconnected with the subject and which provide verifiable information. Someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject.

Any deficiencies should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.

The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.

If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process.

You may find this tool useful for finding sources: Google custom search

Don't feel discouraged. My first attempts at creating articles were deleted too. You can ask for help at the TEAHOUSE

There is more information at Wikipedia:Community_portal Cheers, and happy editing. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 03:36, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Would an interview done by a relatively major local magazine support the article? Or would I need more to support it (sorry, I haven't been too involved in the content writing side)? Dark-World25 (talk) 06:24, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
DOn't think it will meet WP:MUSIC or establish notability. I've seen interviews used and called insufficient. I'll drafty and you can wok on it in peace there. The AfC reviewers can evaluate it when you are done.11:54, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Dead link template

Hi! While this isn't a big deal, why did you put a disruption template for the anon? It seemed to be a good-faith edit by someone who didn't know that there was a dead link template. I think an explanation about the template would be better. Thank you! Diamond Blizzard talk 03:05, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

If you're referring to User:162.213.84.121, I apologise for being so abrupt with that template, as I was basically going through the filtered edits on huggle, and wasn't aware that he was a new user. I will apologise to him too, and explain how he could deal with such things in the future. Apologies, Dark-World25 (talk) 05:10, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi there! I saw that you reverted the edits by an IP user (2A02:C7F:B012:AA00:356B:E298:7A3D:BEA7) here on the Trainspotting (film) article and warned the user for vandalism. I reviewed this user's edits but I don't see where this user added any blatant vandalism or disruption to the article that you reverted. Can you point it out to me? Did I miss something? Thanks :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:51, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi, sorry that was an accidental revert, I was trying to revert all the spam vandalism made by 177.152.55.34 [3] who was defacing several pages a minute with quotes from the hobbit at the time and accidentally skipped past one of his edits. This one just happened to be next on the queue. I've already scratched that warning. Thanks for letting me know! Dark-World25 (talk) 07:35, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Melbourne Underground (Music group)

Hello, Dark-World25. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Melbourne Underground".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Lapablo (talk) 08:58, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

hum...

Hi D-W25. I see you do much valuable work rolling back vandalism, which is something I think we all should appreciate. In that spirit, please allow me to point out that (afaik :) rollback is only to be used in cases of vandalism etc rather than for gf edits, as acknowledged in this instance (where, incidentally, the rationale for the reverted edit had been clearly explained in the edit summary). Thank you, 86.190.128.52 (talk) 00:09, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

I've acknowledged my error in reverting that edit, and regarding rollback, it can also be used for GF edits rather than the undo by discretion AFAIK. Dark-World25 (talk) 07:32, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for that. I'm no expert but, per WP:ROLLBACKUSE (and above here), my understanding is that rollback should not be used for gf edits, and that "it is considered inappropriate to use it in situations where an explanatory edit summary would normally be expected." Cheers, 86.190.194.119 (talk) 08:30, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Huggle actually allows for a reason to be provided, hence why I was using it as such. Thanks! Dark-World25 (talk) 08:46, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Hmmm, multiple experiences (as an ip contributor to Wikiperdia) lead me believe that there are some very good reasons for the injunction not to use *rollback* to revert good faith edits. 86.190.194.119 (talk) 10:21, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Aight, I was coming off the instrructions on the rollback page. I'll do it with Twinkle next time. Dark-World25 (talk) 10:45, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. When using these automated systems, please do check edit summaries / histories / context etc before reverting edits that could plausibly be gf. Otherwise, hasty reversion can unintentionally cause issues for the gf contributor being reverted. In some cases even to the point of later being informally branded as an unconstructive editor based merely on another patroller's causally naive misinterpretation of a past rollback (sigh). 86.190.194.119 (talk) 11:00, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Christian Hogue

Hello Dark-World25. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Christian Hogue, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: being on the cover of a notable magazine indicates significance. Thank you. SoWhy 13:29, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Café Majestic

Hello Username:Dark-World25, Please note that I translated from the French article with few changes- the café in question is a landmark and if you look further, this article exists in several languages with very similar content:

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Café_Majestic, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Café_Majestic, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Café_Majestic, https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Café_Majestic, https://gl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Café_Majestic,

If you are to delete my article and for consistency in Wikipedia, then ALL the entries for Café Majestic should be deleted under the same criteria you invoke. Finally, I do not appreciate your aggressive behaviour- it is unfair and counterproductive. You should try and be less reactive and immediately nominate speedy deletion without taking a second look. I did not translate an existing article from another language with the intent of marketing. I have absolutely no interest or affiliation with this or any institution for that matter. Best regards Melroross (talk) 13:30, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Melroross: Out of all of the ones you linked, only the German and Galician page does not require significant rewrite. All others do, and if you see this anywhere else next time, please tag it as This is not to say that you are affilited with the cafe in any way, it is simply an indication that the article fails to conform to Wikipedia guidelines. If you have any more questions, it is better to contact the deleting administrator, who did agree with me as to the issues of the article. Best Regards, Dark-World25 (talk) 21:46, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Anton Safronov

Dear Dark-World25. I am letting you know I have contested the speedy deletion of Anton Safronov, an article you marked for speedy deletion, because the person is freestyle wrestling champion in Russia's Far East and former cabinet minister. Thank you. Personal82 (talk) 05:02, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

@Personal82: Hi, I haven't actually marked it for deletion, someone else did. Best Regards, Dark-World25 (talk) 06:27, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Unjustified deletion in article Jacques de Sores

Hallo!: source was clearly identified in the comment of addition, as the catholic page: www.evangeliodeldia.org this site has an english language choice; every day, besides Readings for the Holy Mass, the list of saints and blessed the church reminds, along with a short biography of every one of them, appears, just click the icon with a head surrounded by an aureola.

If you look in the web for Jakob Soria, Jacques Sores, and other spellings of Jacques de Sores, or about the case of the Jesuit martyrs in front of island La Palma (the same of the erupting volcano), commemorated in mid July, you could find the many ways the surname is spelled, including 'Souris', 'Soros', 'Soria', also about the Jakob Soria indication he was killing them 'in the name of queen Albret',...

The identity of 'Soria' to 'ShorYah', translation into 'slaughterer for Yah' is immediate in hebrew language dictionnaires, ShorYah= Soria, is self evident, linguistic indicates the rules, the ways, spelling, prononciation of terms changes from time to time, from place to place; you know the surname 'Abadia' comes from 'AbdYah'; that 'Arias' is 'ArYah', the Lion of YahWeh, Judah; usw

This is not 'original research' as it is not research reading a dictionary, it is not research entering a subject in a web search engine, reading what shows. Besides this, you don't specify which of the additions you feel as 'non-referenced'.

For protection of your own reputation, revert the deletion, no reason for it. Blessings + — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.39.109.243 (talk) 12:45, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

This really doesn't even deserve a reply but whatever. You cannot add content because its "self evident". If you want to make an addition please ensure that it is sourced in the article and not in the summary. Moreover, I am not even sure if that source is reliable, and even if it was, you failed to link to the correct page. Regards, Dark-World25 (talk) 14:04, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Deletion prods

You are posting far too many of these, which people are rightly removing. This causes work for other editors. Please don't become a problem. Johnbod (talk) 01:54, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

I wasn't aware I had tagged any articles with PROD for at least the last six months. If you're referring to CSD tags, only one had been declined for legitimate reasons while another was tagged while the article had a total of three words, which was reworked later. Even assuming that all were rejected, 9 tags over 11 days is hardly "far too many". Best regards, Dark-World25 (talk) 06:09, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Milan edit warring

hello! Thanks God someone who can give a helping hand here! Well, yes i am having a problem on the Milan page, a user is constantly changing what is written on the page, and i have asked him several times not to do this unless he has verified information with sources, but it is really useless because he continues without stopping! What bothered me the most was the part he changed about the city's history, in which he removed what was already written (and verified with the citations) and wrote other things totally nothing to do with the city's history! If you can do something I would appreciate it very much, there were already other users here who were also reversing what he wrote on the page, but I think that's just me now. This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. Hey! Hope you're well. You just undid an edit I made to Antonio Nunez's page stating a source was not provided. However a source stating that was his debut was in fact provided (the BBC article). I corrected the previous statement that said he made his debut against Portsmouth.

Hello Darkweb, Plesse forgive me if I’m not adding this discussion the proper place, you can point me to a more appropriate place. Let’s please discuss Andrew Baron. I admit I am biased but the article is also biased and I wish to make the article non-biased. Can you work with me on it? 2601:281:8180:1F10:7DC8:23EC:D12E:2EE8 (talk) 13:00, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

I'm probably not the best person to ask since I don't involve myself in the content side very heavily, but at a glance I don't see any immediate issues with the article. Per wikipedia guidelines NPOV does not necessarily mean equal weighting has to be given to the other POV, especially if it has little reliable coverage or represents a minority viewpoint. If you still think there's something wrong with the article in its current state, I would recommend asking over at WP:TEA for someone else to assess it, and go from there. Dark-World25 (talk) 13:24, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Humanwire

It’s not biased or controversial to add in an update to a legal case. It’s significant. Each time you have reverted the article, you acted without an understanding of the content or the case. You have also indicated that you are not interested in looking at the content, and that you only glanced. The man was false accused and that detail was provided. It’s critical to fairness to note that his case was dismissed and sealed. So I plan to add that information back in. Please do not frye critical information that helps give the reader important facts such as having a case dismissed. 2601:281:8180:1F10:7DC8:23EC:D12E:2EE8 (talk) 13:35, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

There are two issues:
  1. You cannot simply cite a self published source on a BLP article to claim that he himself was not guilty and the charges were dismissed. There is simply no reputable source to indicate otherwise, to take his word at face value would be akin to claiming that every criminal that maintains innocence is therefor not guilty.
  2. A plea of no contest is equivalent to an admission of guilt but with no civil liability. Yes the charges are technically "dismissed", but they are still shown on a criminal record.

Hello!

Hi I'm the editor that expanded the indroduction and history section in the Armenian illuminated manuscript page, thank you for the remark you added about the rough translation, I do speak French so i did try to "de-roughen" the translation by Google translate as much as I can, may I ask, do you have any specific section or quote you felt it to be too obviously translated? As far I can see, the introduction seems to be just fine, but any note or remark for a specific section would be highly appreciated as Id be able to work on translating it manually. دانيالوه (talk) 16:03, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

@دانيالوه: Hi! Thanks for contributing and sorry for not responding earlier. I believe that sentence structure and cohesion is the biggest issue with the article right now, for example the opening sentence reads "Armenian illuminated manuscripts form a separate tradition, related to other forms of Medieval Armenian art, but also to the Byzantine tradition", which isn't very clear at all (what is it separate to?). Unfortunately I am not proficient in French at all and am currently quite busy so I don't believe that I could be of much help here, but happy to see what I can do with regards to copyediting in about a week. Thanks, Dark-World25 (talk) 11:36, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Inquiry on a copyright violation allegation

@Dark-World25@NthepYou alleged that my June 1 2022 edit on the International Criminal Court investigation pertaining to Sudan infringes on the copyright of an unnamed, unmarked blog, bearing the URL: http://currinfo.blogspot.com/2018/01/international-criminal-court.html I have no knowledge of this unmarked blog. Every information that I have taken for this edit are from the official website of the International Criminal Court, at https://www.icc-cpi.int/sites/default/files/2022-05/TheCourtTodayEng.pdf and https://www.icc-cpi.int/news?f%5B0%5D=related_to%3A11. I attribute every information this website to its true source, and make reasonable edits to the expressions taken from the source. In any event, my reports on the investigation and prosecution of the core international crimes such as crime against humanity, genocide, and warcrime, would have been a clear instance of fair use. This use is absolutely non-profit, and clearly for the purpose of nonprofit public education. There is limited, if any, creativity and imagination involved in the subject matter, which is purely a matter of fact i.e. X is prosecuted for Y on Z date. My edit has limited, if any, effect, on the commercial value of the subject matter. No one can reasonably claim that the International Criminal Court is in the business of prosecuting human rights violators to make money. Allegation of copyright infringement is serious. I invite you to justify your allegation and actions in not only reverting, but rolling back my edit. Regards. HollerithPunchCard (talk) 21:40, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Dark-World25. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 16:06, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022

New Page Review queue June 2022

Hello Dark-World25,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here.   Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 9359 articles, as of 18:00, 27 May 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. ^ not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. ^ The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022

New Page Review queue August 2022

Hello Dark-World25,

Backlog status

After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.

Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Coordination
MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
Open letter to the WMF
The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
TIP - Reviewing by subject
Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.

New reviewers
The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
New pages patrol needs your help!

New pages awaiting review as of June 30th, 2023.

Hello Dark-World25,

The New Page Patrol team is sending you this impromptu message to inform you of a steeply rising backlog of articles needing review. If you have any extra time to spare, please consider reviewing one or two articles each day to help lower the backlog. You can start reviewing by visiting Special:NewPagesFeed. New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Dark-World25,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Dark-World25:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2900 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:23, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
