Proposed deletion of Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul

edit

The article Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 16:23, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please note because sources are both WP:USERGENERATED and not relibale sources, I've had to re-add the request. Please find reliable sources, WP:RS. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 11:23, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

More about Pimchanok

edit

I added one more source here, SunCreator was absolutely right to say that, while you'd added three sources to the article, they were not sources that are "reliable" under the meaning of our policies here at Wikipedia. I realize these policies can be confusing, so I thought I'd explain a bit more. The full explanation of the policies is at the link SunCreator provided above, but I'll try and take my own shot at explaining them in my own words, maybe that will be helpful to you if you work on articles in the future.

In general, when we talk about reliable sources here we're talking about several things at once. We'd like those sources to be from organizations, usually newspapers, magazines, and books from reputable publishers, that have an editor and an editorial process, and that have a reputation for accuracy--or at least that don't have a reputation for inaccuracy. In general, blogs, web forums, Facebook, MySpace, Livejournal, etc. pages don't qualify. In fact, even other Wikipedia pages aren't considered reliable sources.

While the source I added qualifies, and the article won't be deleted via the "BLPPROD" process, it is still at risk of eventual deletion for another reason. Articles on people are expected to meet another guideline, called the general notability guideline, (the policy is WP:GNG) which actually requires *multiple* reliable sources, each of which talks about the person in some significant detail, not just a passing mention. If enough such sources are added, it is unlikely that this article will be at risk of deletion in the future, but right now it could still be nominated for deletion in the future based on this "notability" requirement. Additional sources, more like the one I added, would avoid this.

I hope this helps explain our somewhat confusing requirements. Best regards, --joe deckertalk to me 14:44, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
