Hi, below is the entire deleted text of Open to buy.

What is Open-to-Buy? Definition: Open-to-Buy is the difference between planned purchases and stock already ordered; the dollar amount of merchandise that a buyer can order for a particular period.

I deleted it because it did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. It's just a definition, not an encyclopaedia article, and Wiktionary might have been more appropriate. Also, if it's just a US thing (going by the ref to dollars — although there are other dollars anyway) that should be made clear. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:26, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. It seems from your message on my page that you haven't understood the guidelines. Don't write about yourself - you can't be objective. Deb (talk) 07:49, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi Deb, does that mean I get someone else to write this for me? I can do that, if that's what's required. Dan Jablons (talk) 19:14, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
You can request the article, but if you are going to specifically ask someone, it should be someone who doesn't have a conflict of interest. Deb (talk) 15:23, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Last question, I promise. Is there a list of "approved article writers"? I would reach out to someone on that list, give them a little info about me (which they could research/verify) and then submit. Is that how this would work? Or, can I just have another person create an account and submit an article about me? Dan Jablons (talk) 16:07, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
No. Please read Wikipedia:Requested articles. Also read Help:Talk pages#Notifications for how to contact other Wikipedians and be sure they see your message. Deb (talk) 18:23, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
