St. Catherine's Sailing Club is rather historical in our community, and the most southly sailing club in the British Isles.
I myself am a officer of the club, the material in which I used was not copyrighted and I wrote it myself for use on the clubs website, email me at daniel.williams@scsc.org.je. Major international sailing events were/are held at the sailing club, aswell as visits from navy vessels which I believe are of importance to an encyclopedia, such as wikipedia.
I was just starting off creating the page, when it was deleted :(

Hi. I deleted the article because of a number of things: 1) much of the text was copied from the official website, and we have no evidence of permission and 2) there was no credible assertion of why the club meets our notability guidelines for clubs.
If you wish to use text from the website, and have permission to do so, you need to either:
- Place a notice on the official website that states "text on this page is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 3.0 Unported licence and the Gnu Free Documentation License version 1.3". Releasing the content under these licenses would allow anyone to use the text for any purpose at any time, and they are irrevocable.
- Or, if you do not wish to post the notice on the website, you can email permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org from an email address associated with the website.
In order to establish that the club meets our notability guidelines, you should cite news articles or other reliable sources that cover the subject in-depth. Just include links to such references in the article. If you wish to create a new article with no risk of speedy deletion while it is being prepared, you can do it at User:Danielwje/St. Catherine's Sailing Club and then move it into mainspace once it is ready.
