Proposed deletion of Dan Costa (musician) edit

The article Dan Costa (musician) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. The only reference seems to be to his own project, obviously not independent third-party source. I can't actually see a claim for notability. Performing with notable people doesn't make him notable, and his supposed performances and stardom are too vague to be meaningful co-directed musicals, performed with orchestras and big bands, and starred as both a pianist and composer... He has performed for several festivals with different ensembles.... Nothing named.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: His strong interest in his Latin roots coupled with his passion for jazz... graduated with distinction... receiving an award for outstanding achievement... He has co-directed musicals, performed with orchestras and big bands, and starred as both a pianist and composer in projects... He has performed for several festivals with different ensembles, and is the leader of his own project
  • Your user name suggests that you may have a conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest, and WP:Autobiography.

Hi, You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~ The point of speedy deletion is that the case for deletion is so obvious there is no point in discussing. I can show hundreds of pages of wikipedia with no referencing and with a list of awards for different musicians... Why haven't these articles been deleted? Not relevant. Either they meet our criteria, or they should be deleted too. When people list specific ither articles, I check them and delete those that should have been deleted Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:39, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help me! edit

Hello,

I created an article a few days ago and it was deleted due to insufficient references. Fair enough. I then rewrote the whole article with 5 external, reliable references and then I found out that a "speedy deletion" had taken place, apparently because now there was no sufficient evidence that the person or thing is important. This is ludicrous. Marconi invented the telephone and who actually became "famous" - if this is all you care about - is Mr. Bell who was smart enough to declare his invention before his counterpart.

Could someone please explain to me what is happening? What is so inappropriate about the article? I am confused with the attitude of wikipedians who randomly delete articles even when the author is showing willingness to make changes which would meet Wikipedia's criteria.

Please let me know. Many thanks Daniel7474 (talk) 16:33, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Note that for anyone to read your message above you need to include a {{Help me}} template to attract attention. The last deletion was by User:Mackensen, and you should address your request for a copy of the text to his talk page. Ask for clarification since there is no point getting the deleted text unless you know how to fix it (if it is fixable— notability may be hard to prove). Looking at your refs, they seem to be either affiliated to you or of low quality, not reputable third-party sources. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:59, 5 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

Thanks for your reply? Can you please help me to get in touch with this person? Nowhere can I find a Way to contact him. Also, how do I Retrieve my text? Daniel7474 (talk) 18:54, 5 July 2015 (UTC)</Reply

In reply to your comment about refs, the only red related to myself is my website, as nobody else would know about personal details such as schooling. All the other sites , such as casa da Musica, Blitz, even the one related to the Eurovision Song Contest, are more than reputable and you can check the artists presence in these few examples. Sockpuppet investigation edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Daniel7474, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

July 2016 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Dan Costa (musician). Your article has been deleted four times, including after a deletion discussion. If you don't stop, I will block you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:41, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I believe you are being extremely rude and inappropriate. If you check the website in other languages you'll see that the page was created by third parties and accepted without all this anglo-american "fuss". All the best
