I recieved a message from OrphanBot.[1] I recently uploaded Image:Morning Glory Photo.jpg, of which the message was about.[2] I was wondering: what other info must I add? Or else, was this message in error? Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 10:13, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- It's the bot that's in error. OrphanBot considers copyright tags to be either "tags that provide the source of the image in the body of the tag", or "tags that do not provide the source of the image". It's got no provision for a tag that either may or may not include source information. --Carnildo 06:06, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Ah, ok. No worries - just wasn't sure whether I needed to add more details or not. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 06:19, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
FYI, the handling of Neutron (Imperial Guard) was incorrect by Bradtcordeiro (talk · contribs). He did what is called a copy-paste move and copy-paste moves are bad. The entire history for that article is now in the wrong place and that can cause GFDL issues. You were correct to closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neutron (Imperial Guard) but the closure reason was that it wasn't really a deletion request at all. In addition, deletion of redirects is supposed to be done at WP:RFD where folks know to look for copy-paste moves. Just a couple lessons for a future admin! :) —Wknight94 (talk) 10:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Hmmm, that's slack of me - I actually thought of it, but forgot to check if the move was done "officially". I'll make sure I do it in the future :D Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 11:01, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
On 28 September, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sheffield Wednesday Ladies F.C., which you recently nominated. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |
Hello, Daniel.Bryant. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness, general niceness and quality of subpages. Refer to the Scores section at the project page if you are unsure of how to score.
Once you have scored the 5 pages, email Celestianpower using the specified format. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced. Thanks.

Thanks for supporting me in the September Advisory Council Esperanza elections. Although I wasn't elected to the Advisory Council, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was shocked at the support, and was touched by it. Hopefully I will re-apply in March and try again for the job. Thanks again, Highway Daytrippers 23:46, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
You did a good job, and you should definitely try again. I think you will make it next time. I will vote for you.--Chili14 01:28, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
You made a valuable contribution on WP:RfAr today, but just as an FYI item, I believe your usage of the term "fishing expedition" was not quite idiomatic. Typically, a "fishing expedition" refers to an unjustified search for information. Compare the fish template at WP:RfCU which is deals with more of the true "fishing for information" type of situation. What you were challenging in the arbitration case was not so much fishing for information, as harassing an administrator and seeking others who wanted to do the same. Just a verbal point (the term "fishing expedition" is primarily used in a legal context and I'm a lawyer, so I couldn't help myself here).
Incidentally, congratulations on having two "Did You Know?" entries on the day -- very impressive! Keep up the good contributions! Regards, Newyorkbrad 13:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I guess the term "fishing expedition" probably wasn't the one I wanted. It's more like this user is holding a grudge against the administrator, and has gone "fishing" to the ArbCom to see if they can get something from them. My apologies about the ambiguity. Daniel.Bryant 00:37, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well... thanks... i should try that new "actually" reading thing--IAMTHEEGGMAN (talk) 21:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Normally, I'd just fix it for you, but this is an area to tread carefully: Quality over quanity, relevance over mass. Stephen B Streater 19:28, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Daniel.
Thank you so very much for your kind vote. I hope that I can live up to the high standards set by others AC members, and help continue Esperanza down it's wonderful path. All the best, Thε Halo Θ 11:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your work pre-screening requests for unblock. Your assessments are spot-on and greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work and you can count on my support for you-know-what. = P Cheers. -- Netsnipe ► 19:32, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- No problems. I generally only comment on contraversial unblock requests, howver if there's a snowball's chance in hell of the user being unblocked, I'll decline them anyways. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 00:36, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi, you helped me in the past with some problems I had. Could you semi-protect Muslim Students' Association? There is an ongoing series of reversions between three versions of the page and none of the reversions seem particularly productive. The page was reverted 7 times yesterday by me, BhaiSaab, and Bakasuprman. Today the page has been reverted twice by Valarauka and a relatively new user, WTPP. Accusations of vandalism have been thrown around[3] and the civility is generally decreasing[4]. I realize I could have asked on WP:PP, but I figured I'd go for an immediate source. DRK 19:46, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Sorry, I'm not an administrator. You'll have to go via WP:PP, unfortunately. Otherwise, yes, I would have. Sorry again, Daniel.Bryant 00:35, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Would you consider a nomination? You've been very helpful. DRK 00:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I nominated it for full-protection. Why? Because, in one or two day's time, all the new users could troll it again. I gave my recommendation of the the version I believe should be protected whilst you guys seek dispute resolution. It was this version, before most of the reverting took place. Daniel.Bryant 00:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Uh... I think you misinterpreted my comment... I was asking if you would consider a nomination for adminship. DRK 04:13, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Oh, lol. No, sorry, I'd have to decline. I made a pact after my last RfA that I wouldn't run again before the end of this year, at the least. Sorry, but I'd have to decline. Daniel.Bryant 04:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Several of the A-League plyer profile photos that I added are up for deletion. Panarjedde claims that they are not promotional photos and that I am infringing copyright laws by uploading them. Can you help me stop them from being deleted. This is why Panarjedde says he/she is deleting them: "Many of the images you uploaded are under copyright, and no fair use under the promotional reason can be applied to them, as they were not taken by any promotional portfolio." Thanks, Rossoneri3 11:26, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
hello Daniel, sorry i have been bereft of time as of late so i didn't get a chance to respond. i don't think the case neatly fits into any of the codes given (is this a new process recently established?), although there was a bit of vandalism it wasn't ongoing or serious enough for code C. the case was brought to RFCU per the instructions of an admin in WP:SSP. the account in question in my opinion is an SPA sock per the diffs given, although it has not committed any serious violations of the WP rules (actively participating under two persona without legitimate reason may be a contravention however). in the light of that, if the case is expected to strictly meet one of the six codes then it should probably be closed until there is more serious reason to investigate in which case i will re-submit the query. thank you. ITAQALLAH 16:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- OK, no problems. I copied that to the case page, and I'll let the Checkusers decide. Chers, Daniel.Bryant 00:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I just love page move vandals, don't you? :) I'm going to go one better and just hang a vandal block notice. His unblock request is serios trolling, nothing more. - Lucky 6.9 01:05, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Indeed. It's free user and user talk edits, because you know a) they're going to be indefinately blocked and b) you will always decline their RFU. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 01:07, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- LOL! As for that Dylan thing, I restored the last version...I think. Thanks for the tip. - Lucky 6.9 01:37, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Jimbo has commented on the Arch Coal delete-review. He said: "I am happy for this to go through deletion review." - meaning that he would be willing to accept an undelete if consensus for such was reached. Given the above, would you be willing to re-evaluate the article under the same criteria as other deletion reviews? Thanks, ---J.S (t|c) 16:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Will do. Thanks for the note. Daniel.Bryant 00:23, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I see you popping up all the place complaining about me. You are not a headmaster, nor my parent, nor my employer... and you know this, so like a tattletale child, you keep calling for me to be put in my place, that someone needs to tell me what I can and can't do. Get over it already. The discussions should focus on the AfDs and deletion reviews in question. Many editors have made their opinion known about what I should and should not be doing, and I have been shown all the relevant policy. I am going to act with more discretion in the future. So, take a breath, count to ten, and don't feel the need to raise your hand and shout "PT's chewing gum in class, teacher!" I won't be adding your talk page to my watchlist, and I really don't see what you'd have to say to me except for an apology (which I don't expect or require) or more complaining (which I'm not interested in reading). So, take care, and see you around. PT (s-s-s-s) 18:28, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Fine. The only place I will see you is at DRV, where any dubious closes will end up. Daniel.Bryant 00:24, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'm waiting for two more sets of scores :). Regards, —Celestianpower háblame 15:44, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
It has taken me 4 days of hard work, and over 80[1] edits to the same page to get this done. Per your comment on IRC
* Daniel-Bryant will give Mike a barnstar for every letter he does
<Daniel-Bryant> and no, don't do q, stop and demand a barnstar!
... And per this diff [2], I hereby request[3] 26 barnstars[4].
1: 82 at my count
2: It's an interesting diff
3: By 'request' I mean 'demand'
4: You said on IRC '27', and as I see it (seeing as I didn't do Z) I only deserve '25', so we'll cut it half way. If you want to give me 27, go ahead :)Hope to hear from you soon. --Michael Billington (talk • contribs) 11:46, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

- Oh my! Sorry, I wasn't watching it, got distracted by people plying me with clam chowder. That is a very nice review, and I'm extremely flattered that a user of your... calibre?... would say things like that. Adminship sounds very scary and daunting from where I am right now, so I wouldn't consider running until, say, the middle of next year. 'Til then, I'm happy to keep going the way I am right now :) As for the user talk edits... a lot of it is vandalism warnings... it's not all me being light and fluffy. I'm mean. :p

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which finished with a tally of 52/6/1 (~90%). It was an interesting process which gave me a chance to learn a bit about myself and about the community. My intention now is to slowly ease into using those additional buttons on my page. No use being over eager and mucking up the works. The support of all those who went over my record and/or rallied to my defense after the big oppose vote was instumental to the success of this review. Again, thank you! --StuffOfInterest 12:13, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply |

Hey Daniel! How have you been? Did you see the Soccer last night? That was great. I'm a judge in the Esperanza Caption Competition (feel free to enter) and I'm trying to make some templates that will make judging a whole lot easyer, but I cannot get them to all align right so they sit opposite the pictures. Can you help me? I'm getting better at Templating (see my Test site). And Culverin is saying something that you'd better see.
