Hoa Hakananai'a

edit

I'm thinking of starting an article on Hoa Hakananai'a, the Easter Island statue in the British Museum, but I'm not sure how notable it is as a distinct article. Please could you give me your opinion on this, as I don't want to create an article which then gets deleted. Totnesmartin 13:16, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

just checked out the page- good work. looks nice. needs links to/from though. any ideas? --Danbrown99 18:40, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I haven't finished yet, stuff to come about its discovery and removal, and its original location in Orongo. I might also put in the politics surrounding its removal. there are also comments on it following its arrival in London. i think (without checking) that it was also the last moai to be made, the last to be used for ritual purposes, and the first to be removed from Easter Island.

Can you find any sources apart from the British Museum book and website? Totnesmartin 18:48, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I've just nominated this for deletion at [1] -- basically because it's an essay and looks like original research. Ironically, I agree with it, so I think you should participate to see if it should be kept, merged, rewritten, or what. --Doug Weller (talk) 18:33, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
