Please comment on Wikipedia:Archive.is RFC 3 edit

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Wikipedia:Archive.is RFC 3. — Legobot (talk) 00:07, 2 July 2014 (UTC) I commented on this. A for-profit facility called "Archive.is" utilizes advertising which presumably makes the person running it a profit, and as such that is a fatal issue -- Archive.is should be blocked, banned, exterminated with extreme prejudice. We should not allow parasites to profit from our volunteer work. Damotclese (talk) 17:26, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Template talk:Infobox person. — Legobot (talk) 00:03, 12 July 2014 (UTC) I commented on this. I always look for more information as opposed to less, and when RFCs are created to ask about whether something should be included in an article or not, if it is relevant I saw it should be included. No need to force people doing research on something to search further. Damotclese (talk) 16:49, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Talk:Economy of Pakistan. — Legobot (talk) 00:04, 22 July 2014 (UTC) I commented on this. When some non-governmental or some governmental entity makes a claim or a statement about what income value constitutes a poverty level, there is great bias and fluidity in the claims, so they should be avoided. If such statements are still desired, the entity making the claim needs to be references as a solid citation. Damotclese (talk) 22:43, 22 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Many of the editors don't know that Hamas is a duly elected, Democratically elected government and seem to feel that the number of dead Israli terrorists which Hamas claims for their body count should be dismissed out-of-hand as propganda, ignoring the fact that all governmens express propaganda rhetoric when throwing around body counts. I recommended that no such claims be made, neither of the two body counts. Damotclese (talk) 16:09, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request for advice and assistance from EyesWhyde edit

I am an editor of the Wikipedia article on the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA. You contributed to the discussion on the Talk page for that article centering on whether a substantial edit I made to the article should be included or not. You wrote that you supported the inclusion of this text. The edit that I have done continues to be challenged (wrongly in my view) on the bases of lack of consensus, and the use of primary sources (which you commented on). Right now there is sharp disagreement in this discussion with my proposed text being continually (and wrongly in my view) reverted. This is my first edit of a Wikipedia article and I'm wondering if you could be of some assistance to me on how I should proceed in this dispute. Things are deadlocked at this point. The discussion is ongoing at Talk:Revolutionary Communist Party, USA and I and others have made a number of comments there. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.EyesWhyde (talk) 01:08, 14 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I responded to this request in the talk: page and will also do so in the usre's talk: page. One of the guidelines is that editors do not go in search of support -- "campaigning," I believe it's called. :) Still, I re-stated my opinion that the proposed information be included. More information is always better than less provided that the information is accurate.
What I'm concerned about is that the proposed inclusion is being rejected because it's about Communism from a pro-Communism web site, not for any other serious reason. The fact that the web site is the sole source for the information suggested to be included should not and does not constitute a fatal flaw. Damotclese (talk) 16:21, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wik-Ed Women is a new monthly series of informal Wikipedia editing sessions for Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists. This second session will take place on Tuesday, October 7 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
