Welcome!

Hello, Dafydd Ll Jones, and welcome to Wikipedia! This is one of the most popular websites in the world, and it's only through the contributions of editors like you. And Wikipedia is not just a collection of articles, it's an active community. The real fun here is contributing to Wikipedia, but don't feel hurt if some of your first few edits get removed, as there are some central guidelines you may not be familiar with.

Some good advice: be bold in your editing, and use the talk pages to discuss with other editors. Be kind to others, because there's a lot you can learn from them, and there's lots they can help you with.

There's lots of resources to help you become a great editor, from our basic introduction to our in-depth manual. But if you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page. Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. And if you haven't done so, tell us a bit about yourself. If you need some help, visit the Teahouse Q&A board. Oh, and please sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

Glad you're here! Civis Romanus (talk) 17:03, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Duplication of names

edit

Looking at the history of Talk:Pen y Bryn and Pen y Bryn it strongly appears that you may have also edited in the past as Dafydd Llanberis. Such editing behaviour can lead to concerns about sock puppetry although I can see no evidence that you have used the accounts in this way. If you have indeed used two accounts, it would be helpful to other editors if you could make a declaration to that fact on your user page to avoid any suspicion of sock puppetry. Thanks.  Velella  Velella Talk   23:17, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes. I confirm that I have edited in the past as Dafydd Llanberis (the place where I was born). My name is Dafydd Llywelyn Jones. I think that there has to be a greater degree of transparency on the Pen y Bryn / Garth Celyn page, so I decided to use my full name so that there is no doubt. It seems likely that'Civis Romanus' and 'Graduate Historian' are one and the same person. 'Civis Romanus' has over time removed academic references and important information from this page in a deliberate and systematic way. I should like to know why CR has such an axe to grind regarding this place and why he feels the need to be the judge and jury. Two individuals from Gwynedd Archaeological Trust have acted in exactly the same way over the years having had their noses put out of joint on the Llanfaes fiasco. I can only guess that the person who hides behind 'Civis Romanus'is one of those two. Dafydd Ll Jones Dafydd Ll Jones (talk) 09:22, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks!  Velella  Velella Talk   09:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
