I was a member of the U.S. Navy Presidential Honor Guard 1983-1985. Two key events during that time were the Internment of the Unknown Soldier in May 1984 and President Reagan's Inauguration in January 1985. It is the latter of these two I wish to make comment. During rehearsals in the weeks prior to the Presidential Inauguration, it became very clear that the event could not be held at the U.S. Capital due to the extreme cold weather. The venue was changed to the Capital Center in Maryland, where I performed the duties of usher. This article does not include this information, and I wish only to ensure accuracy in reporting. Thank you.
