Stats in football players' infoboxes edit

Hi, when you update the stats in football players' infoboxes please remember that you should also update the |pcupdate= (or |club-update=) parameter. This shows when the stats were last updated and prevents editors from accidentally updating the stats again. Thank you. --Jaellee (talk) 17:03, 4 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

October 2018 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Ross Cunningham. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. GiantSnowman 11:48, 8 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". When updating the stats, it is not a minor edit Matthew_hk tc 11:44, 18 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Jordan Brown (footballer, born 1996). This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Egghead06 (talk) 04:35, 24 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Valonis Kadrijaj. GiantSnowman 10:29, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
It would seem the club change is supported by the Fussballdaten reference? Robby.is.on (talk) 10:38, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@GiantSnowman I don't know how to contact you, so I do it here. I love football and I hate it when the stats of footballers are incomplete (especially from not so well-known players). That's why I change so much.

Before any change, I look on transfermarkt.de to see if the statistics are correct and if the player is still playing at the club, which is stated in Wikipedia.

I don't want to do vandalism, I just want to bring the articles up to date.

What can I do to prevent my changes from being reversed?

Do I have to specify more references?

Or are these types of changes even useless for Wikipedia?

I hope you will read this and possibly give me some suggestions for improvement.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there and welcome to Wikipedia. :-) You've made some good contributions and that's great to see. However, to avoid warnings like the above, you need to make sure your changes are backed up by references. Transfermarkt is currently not considered reliable by Wikipedia so you need make sure the changes you make are supported by other, reliable sources. You'll find that most footballer articles already have them. In my experience, some of the most commonly used ones are Soccerway, worldfootball.net, fussballdaten.
If you want to contact a user the recommended way is to write on their Talk page: click on their user name and then "Talk". I am pinging @GiantSnowman: now so he can respond here if he likes. By the way, you can sign your posts with four tildes: ~~~~. Regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 19:38, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
You have been warned multiple times about your editing. You need to provide reliable sources so that we can verify your changes. You should also explain your changes using an WP:EDITSUMMARY. GiantSnowman 20:45, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Dada-life:. Your contributions are missed here, I hope you return! Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:45, 9 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
