Please explain edit

I do not see any logical flow here. The word "however" looks to me inappropriate, because the two sentences are talking about something similar, not different. In my opinion the word "Furthermore" or something similar could be more appropriate to have a logical flow. Please explain to me if I am wrong. Thanks. --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 02:15, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Daniele Pugliesi:
Without a "however", "these churches" may refer to the subset of peace churches who advocate for nonresistance, instead of describing peace churches generally. I suspect there is a better way to phrase this to be more clear. Daask (talk) 10:36, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ignatius of Antioch edit

Thank you for improving Ignatius of Antioch, however, you shouldn’t waste your time expanding the article. It’s boiling hot with copyright violations. — JudeccaXIII (talk) 00:36, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@JudeccaXIII: Using Earwig's Copyvio Detector, I'm not seeing a problem. Are you aware of copyright violations besides the excessive use of quotations? Daask (talk) 00:52, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just used Earwing, and I’m seeing nothing but copy-and pasted content. — JudeccaXIII (talk) 01:12, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
JudeccaXIII, just make sure the content was copied from another website, not to it. As near as I can tell the content from YouTube, OrthodoxWiki, and NewAdvent was all in our article before those pages were created. Primefac (talk) 15:00, 20 April 2018 (UTC) (please ping on reply)Reply
@JudeccaXIII: I concur with Primefac. Daask (talk) 15:36, 20 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

the Open marriage merge(s) edit

A "thank you!" for the acknowledgement for trying to rein in the Open marriage forks. I'd much rather just edit, but this merge so glaringly needed to happen.

As well, "thanks!" for picking up my (wholly unintended) slack. I've been leaning heavily on Wikipedia:Merging (particularly "Full-content paste merger"), and, after trying to get it all done in one session, got somewhat burned out by the process. By the time I got to the "Merged-to/Merged-from" part of the checklist, I found that someone had beat me there!

edits to "Erle Ellis" edit

Hi Daask, Thank you for posting and editing the "Erle Ellis" page- I just noticed that there was a page about me- and I made some edits to correct some of the references, and to add a few. I just noticed you flagged the page as having a COI because I edited it. I didn't add or edit anything that presents an opinion- or even add that much.

If you have a look at the page edits, I think it should be clear that nothing I edited/added should represent a COI, so I hope that you will remove the template message.

And I do not intend to edit this page further.

Thanks, Erle (talk) 20:34, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Erleellis: I reviewed your edits and the page further and removed the COI template. I don't mean to dissuade you from making further suggestions through drafts or on the talk page. I know it's more circuitous but I am sure you can understand. I really appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia. Daask (talk) 23:39, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Will do! Erle (talk) 15:58, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disambig on user pages edit

Presumably this was an accident, but just in case: heads up that you're disambiguating user pages. Not typically covered by WP:TPO. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 00:13, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Deletion? edit

Can you explain your reasoning? Please use {{ping}} if you respond here. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 06:57, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Koavf: Thanks for asking about my remarks on Category:Christian radicalism. In common parlance, the term radicalism means non-normative, but in what way the subject is outside the norm is undefined. People can apply the term "Christian radicalism" to those who take Christianity very seriously and devote an above average portion of their time to religious activity or to those who have beliefs or practices that are unusual in any number of ways, such as Christian atheism.
I guess this boils down to the fact that there is no page Christian radicalism which made me concerned this might be WP:OR. Most ideological categories have a specific label that has been applied to the subjects by themselves or others. Usually, these labels are associated with a set of beliefs that people identified by that label adhere to at least in a family resemblance way. I don't think this applies to Category:Christian radicalism; I'm not sure what these people have in common. Thus my use of the term "catch-all".
That said, I think agree that nominating for deletion is premature. At some point, I hope to write Radical discipleship movement, which may shed some light on this. As I'm responding now, I'm poking through some works which might suggest a specific tradition of Radical Christianity:
  • Bradstock, A.; Rowland, C. (2008). Radical Christian Writings: A Reader. Wiley. ISBN 978-0-470-69280-6., especially pp. xvi-xvii.
  • Rowland, C. (2004). Radical Christianity: A reading of recovery. Wipf and Stock Publishers.
  • Craig, R. H. (1995). Religion and Radical Politics: An Alternative Christian Tradition in the United States. Temple University Press.
I may simply lack the expertise. I'm quite familiar with many of the people in this category, but I'm not clear on how they're connected and I haven't read any of the above works. Daask (talk) 00:39, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I've seen the term used in three distinct senses: 1.) Radical Reformation Christians/Christianity, 2.) 21st-century post-modern Christians (John Cobb, liberation theology, Death of God, etc.), and 3.) Christo-fascists. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 02:30, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled granted edit

Hi Daask, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 11:16, 5 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

One minor thing I noticed when reviewing your article creations was that you don't usually create talk pages for them. Please consider doing so and tagging them with relevant Wikipedia:WikiProjects, because now that you are autopatrolled nobody else will do it. There's a userscript that makes this easier. – Joe (talk) 11:18, 5 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
