November 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Largoplazo. An edit that you recently made to Yoruba people seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. It seems strange that you would change the middle three digits of the population three times in a short period, so that it looked like you were making numbers up instead reporting what you'd found in a reliable source (and you provided no source). I've reverted your changes. Largoplazo (talk) 23:07, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have now found cases where you changed figures that were correct according to the source provided, without providing an updated source to justify your numbers. I've also found cases where you've misstated what a source says, such as when you said that the World Factbook shows that 25% of the population of Nigeria is Hausa, when the book says 30%. I'm reverting your edits. If you have actual figures from reliable sources (and I mean figures, not just percentages) that are more up to date than the numbers already shown (if a number is already given), then please refer to Help:Citing sources to learn how to create citations to support your changes. Largoplazo (talk) 23:23, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

it is now 2023 and he is yet to repent. he is still reverting that edit. Objectivescholar (talk) 14:16, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

December 2022 edit

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Hausa people. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. If you think a figure given in the CIA World Factbook is "a bit exaggerated", please provide an alternative source rather than just altering the number and leaving the CIA source in place. Belbury (talk) 18:59, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

January 2023 edit

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Ilorin, you may be blocked from editing.

I made a mistake, I guess it was because kwara state is part of northern Nigeria, north central to be precise. So I thought it was a wrong statement. Da5ft9 (talk) 15:36, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

February 2023 Annang edit

Hello Da5ft9, I have noticed your contribution to Annang wikipedia page. However, your information is incorrect. You keep writing that Annang and Oron are subgroups of Ibibio, I wonder why you didn't write that in the Efik page.

They are all individual groups and this is even recognized by the Akwa ibom state government and Nigeria at large.

Trying to erase the heritage of a people by erasing their identity is not the best way to go.

The source you even cited does not implicitly or explicitly state that Anaang is sub group of Ibibio. Please, stop spreading misinformation.

If you do not know much about a subject, it is okay to ask around, read on the subject matter, travel, interact with the people, in this case the natives(I am assuming you are not a native). Camwoodartist (talk) 04:47, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Stop vandalising pages! edit

I am reverting your edit for the 100th time. Wikipedia is not a place for your views and opinions. If you want to edit the data on the page, then cite a reference. You cant claim one thing on the page while the source you cited is claiming otherwise.

This section referenced the United State's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) World Factbook (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/nigeria/). The information on the Factbook is different from that which is in the page. According to the Factbook, the ethnic composition of Nigeria is as follows Hausa 30%, Yoruba 15.5%, Igbo (Ibo) 15.2%, Fulani 6%, Tiv 2.4%, Kanuri/Beriberi 2.4%, Ibibio 1.8%, Ijaw/Izon 1.8%, other 24.9% (2018 est.). lock the page to prevent vandalism pleas! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Seyi Vibez, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ketu. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm Volten001. I noticed that you recently removed content from Diamond Platnumz without adequately explaining why. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistent addition of unsourced content and disruptively ignoring community concerns.

Request reason:

Over the past two days I've taken my time to reflect on my mistakes. It is true that I've added unsourced contents and ignored community guidelines sometimes. I promise to do better going forward and I want to always be able to help contribute the little I can to this lovely platform. We can always aid each other in helping to make Wikipedia a better place. I have decided that if given another chance to be an editor again (if I'm unblocked), I'll focus mainly on adding properly sourced and verified contents for the betterment of Wikipedia Da5ft9 (talk) 19:53, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

I will remove the block and give you another chance. Notifying ToBeFree. 331dot (talk) 23:43, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please give an example of a properly sourced edit you would make. 331dot (talk) 20:47, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please additionally provide a translation to plain English of Special:Diff/1174774507. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:57, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Simply put, it means I'm not the only one who has been editing the page. It's me simply saying that I'm not the vandal here. At least I thought so at the time Da5ft9 (talk) 05:39, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's clearly not a translation, just a summary or excuse. Without a proper translation (in quotation marks of course; I'm aware it's an attack) we lack a discussion basis. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:47, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok firstly, you can't teach me Nigerian pidgin, so you saying that's an attack, I don't know what else to say. Nigerian pidgin is spoken in parables most times so there's not necessarily a direct translation in proper English Da5ft9 (talk) 04:48, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you still doubt what I said, then see a Nigerian and let him/her translate it for you. You probably think it's an attack because of the "kill" and "bomb". Bomb simply means pressing a phone or hustling. It all depends on the context. That's why I said it doesn't have a direct English translation because it would make absolutely no sense literally Da5ft9 (talk) 05:04, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will no longer write in Nigerian pidgin anymore so as to avoid being misunderstood because the cultures are completely different. Da5ft9 (talk) 05:09, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
"Does medicine eat dust? Why is that on the page? Make your correction and get out, don't message and go. Pressing your phone/computer in the head 🙄?"
That's the literal translation in proper English but I'm not sure if it would make any sense to you Da5ft9 (talk) 05:45, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'd have imagined at very least "stupid message" to be an unfriendly thing to say, but what do I know... Please disregard my concern. 331dot's request appears to have been answered below, in the unblock request procedurally closed on 17 September 2023. I'd be fine with anyone unblocking without asking. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:41, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Jay-Z is a billionaire. As of 2023, he is the wealthiest musical artist in the world with a net worth of US$2.5 billion, according to Forbes.[3] Climate change affects the social and environmental determinants of health; clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter. Between 2030 and 2050, climate change is expected to cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per year, from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and heat stress.[4] These are two examples of a properly sourced edit

Unsourced Ijaw population figures edit

You're taking the Ijaw population down to 4 million (again). What source are you referring to when you say "according to reference provided" in your edit summary? All the sources on that article say 14/15 million as far as I can see. Belbury (talk) 09:24, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

CIA placed them as 1.8% of the Nigerian population which is about 4 million Da5ft9 (talk) 21:45, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The Ijaw were not even a significant tribe in Nigeria, even up until now some Nigerians remain unfamiliar with the tribe. It was not until they produced one of Nigeria's presidents (Goodluck Jonathan), that some unreliable sites began pumping their population way out of proportion. They are several tribes apart from the big three in Nigeria that a way larger and significant than the Ijaw e.g Fulani, Ibibio, Kanuuri, Edo, etc. The CIA factbook confirms this too Da5ft9 (talk) 22:04, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The CIA World Factbook wasn't cited as a source anywhere in the article when you described it as the "reference provided" for the 4 million figure. Thank you for now adding it. Belbury (talk) 07:43, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

October 2023 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Yoruba people, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.   Hi Da5ft9! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Fula people several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Fula people, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 14:18, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll move on to other things and stop editing the page for now Da5ft9 (talk) 14:26, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
