August 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page E-mu Emax has been reverted.
Your edit here to E-mu Emax was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://nonaudio.wordpress.com/emulatorarchive/emax-ii/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 00:17, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

DX7 page edit

I'm sorry but it looks like you don't understand how Wikipedia works. We can't accept your last edit for a few reasons.

1) The source you supplied can't be used on Wikipedia because it's based on user-generated content. For more information, see WP:USERGENERATED.

2) Your addition was copy-pasted from the source. This is a copyright violation. See WP:COPYPASTE.

3) Your addition was basically just a massive list of things with no further context. To provide encyclopedic value, data should be put in context with explanations referenced to independent sources. Merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. See WP:INDISCRIMINATE.

If you continue to re-add inappropriate content you might be blocked. Instead, try creating a discussion here or on the DX7 talk page. Thanks. Popcornduff (talk) 22:42, 8 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Popcornduff: Thanks for your inputs and explanation.
That said:
1) An explanation about vintagesynth being "user generated content" would be fine. Articles are not editable or writable by users, just the editor. They might have contributions as most major magazines do.
2) Agree. I shouldn't have written it literally. Then Surprised, as I found a copy paste in the same page (changing word's order within the same sentence doesn't alter it).
Wiki > The "BASS 1" preset was used on songs such as "Take On Me" by A-ha, "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins, and "Fresh" by Kool & the Gang.
Fact Magazine > BASS 1 was used on A-ha’s ‘Take On Me’, Kool & The Gang’s ‘She’s Fresh’ and Kenny Loggins’ ‘Danger Zone
3) Ok.
Your first reversion was because "you need reliable sources showing that these artists are notable" talking about A-ha, Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock, etc?. If that was the main point, couldn't you improve the edit rather than reversion?.
Will consider your advices about possible blockings, thank you. Also, remember that reverting can also be disruptive and may lead to the reverter being temporarily blocked from editing .
Best wishes. DX7 (talk) 00:57, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
