Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, DB1270. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 15:42, 5 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

COI resolved

edit

The concern is understood and appreciated. The content has been revised and rendered neutral, so as to be descriptive.DB1270 (talk) 17:13, 5 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your attention to this is appreciated, but the article will need to be significantly improved if it is to remain in the encyclopedia. It currently has no independent reliable sources to support its content and indicate how it meets the business notability guidelines(please review at WP:ORG) The article currently reads as an entry in a business directory; it must read like an encyclopedia article. I would suggest looking at some other articles on businesses, either in or out of the field, to get an idea on what is being looked for.
If you need time to work on this further, it can be moved into a Draft area where you can work on it at much less risk of deletion, and then submit it for an independent review before it is placed back in the encyclopedia. COI editors who create articles are much more successful doing that than simply creating them. If you are interested in moving it, please ask. 331dot (talk) 10:27, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Move to Draft

edit

Thank you for the additional clarification. I agree that it would be best to move the entry to draft and then submit it for review. Please let me know how to give the article draft status so its can be developed in compliance with your standards. Many thanks in advance for your time and kind assistance.DB1270 (talk) 13:24, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I would be willing to move it for you if you would like. 331dot (talk) 13:26, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Move to Draft

edit

Hello. I would greatly appreciate your moving the article to Draft Area. Please let me know how to access it thereafter so it can be developed as it should be. Thank you. (I looked up the procedure for moving to draft, but it seems quite daunting). Many thanks for your time and kind assistance.

I will do so later today and post a link here. 331dot (talk) 14:05, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have moved the page and you can find it at Draft:Aderco. After you have worked on it some more, finding appropriate reliable sources, you can click the Submit button in the template I added to the page to submit it for review. 331dot (talk) 14:35, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Aderco concern

edit

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Aderco, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:33, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Aderco

edit

Hello, DB1270. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Aderco".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 08:32, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
