Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Hello D.valued, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alphax τεχ 01:01, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for query edit

Thanks for your concern about user:Evinem. The best thing to do after vandals ignoring warnings is to inform an active administrator. I have informed user:BD2412 and expect imminent action and possible block.--File Éireann 22:47, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

AfD edit

Well, you managed to wind me up the wrong way, eh! Proposing a page for deleteion when it has only been up a moment, because of sorting out some other details of the highly complicated List of Japanese nationalist movements and parties. Maybe you could do something useful instead of prowling round like anally retentive giraffe. Harrypotter 22:27, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re : ~ edit

Hi D.valued,

I see. Just thought of getting more anonymous users who make useful contributions to sign up to join the project, like you. :)

Sure it is. We handle around hundreds of them daily. So much that Jimbo recently decided to lock out IP users from creating new pages. - Mailer Diablo 02:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Got it. Will take a look. - Mailer Diablo 03:31, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

HRF Wrestling edit

Noticed you put a speedy tag on this. Would it be better on WP:AfD? I'm reluctant to delete. Filiocht | The kettle's on 10:17, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

McCleskey v. Kemp edit

I sumbled acros this article. You marked it with an AfD and you marked you change as minor. In the USA, all Supreme Court decisions are notable. I would like to know your reasoning for the AfD and the m. -- Fplay 02:26, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Unencyclopedic Science blog clarification? edit

Hi D.valued, I'm not sure which part of Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not is referenced by your concern. Could you clarify this? It does seem to have a large number of external links in it; but, this seems to be the way it was as part of the main Blog article. ChemGardener 19:39, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Are You a Werewolf? merge edit

Hey there, I saw you made a separate article for Are You a Werewolf?, as opposed to Mafia (game). It's been proposed to merge the two articles back together since they are nearly identical (one being the commercial version of the other), but I'd like to get your input, if any, on the talk page.

In addition, copying articles by hand is sort of frowned-upon as it destroys the contributor record. Thanks! -- nae'blis (talk) 18:46, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism on Peccary edit

That Frappacino line wasn't me, it was user:64.81.138.223. Check out the history. Regards--sin-man 05:29, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re : Merge IP with my username? edit

Unfortunately, this is not technically possible. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 14:17, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Solitarysplash.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Solitarysplash.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 09:54, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Blow Up (radio) edit

The article Blow Up (radio) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet verifiability or notability guidelines. No sources found in Google Books or Google News archive searches; possibly original research.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
