Stop your personal attacks edit

Please stop with the personal attacks like the ones you continue to make on ANI and on User:Roux's talk page. You are out of line by continuing to attack both myself and User:ParaGreen13. You sir are bullying the wrong dude here. I will not put up with your attacks and I will not put up with what I see as censorship. Pushing your PC language through personal attacks onto others is not welcome and is against policy. Whatever "words" you find offensive to you are your issues. Those words are in many English dictionaries regardless of how you feel. You must appreciate and respect other people's opinions. You must be tolerant because not every editor you meet shares your views. Many editors believe in free speech. Leave ParaGreen13 alone. Leave me alone. If you do not stop with your personal attacks, I will be forced to report you to ANI. Your behavior is unacceptable and is verging onbullying. Please stop. Caden S (talk) 04:14, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I will not speaking rash to you, seeing as you are in the wrong about this. The term 'negro' is racist, and therefore not allowed by law, not just by our policy. The foundation could get sued for placement of that term on articles, so adding it into articles when you know is wrong is downright unacceptable, and I will get anyone who does it blocked from editing. This is not a personal attack, please read up on policy, this is just my opinion on how things will go down if ParaGreen13 continues to post racist and homophobic comments on articles. As for me not taking into account other peoples views, that's downright hypocritical as it's clear that only you and ParaGreen13 feel this way. The rest of the people at ANI are against placing such racism into articles, and have explicitly stated as such. If we wish to take me to ANI, that is your prerogative, but I feel that won't go anywhere considering you've already been blocked and topic banned for being offensive. —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 08:08, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is not censored for content, there is nothing "illegal" about the term "Negro", and no such suit would stand up in court. I need go no further than to mention the existence of articles like "Negro league baseball", which is what it was called and there's no getting around it. Having said that, the casual use of "Negro" is now considered offensive, and should be avoided in wikipedia except in context (as with Negro League baseball). Perhaps I got that bit wrong. I've replied to the rest of what you said at User talk:CadenS.—Cyclonenim (talk · contribs ·email) 18:54, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Apology edit

Look man, please listen. I didn't mean to imply you're a bad Christian or offend your religious beliefs. I didn't do this intentionally, I swear I didn't man. I truly am sorry. I lost my temper. That's no excuse of course but I'm human. I'm make mistakes. I do believe in God. Dude, He saved my life when I was 12. I respect all faiths and beliefs. Please believe me, I feel awful that I offended you. Please accept my apology. Caden S (talk) 20:44, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just as well you moved it, as it was getting increasingly nonsensical. I don't have the vaguest idea what he's trying to say most of the time, which is why I have typically avoided his endless complaints on ANI. If he and I have ever clashed directly, I don't recall it, but it's always possible. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 09:20, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your guidelines header edit

Greetings, Cyclonenim. When I ate your cookies, I noticed and admired your Guidelines header that appears when one edits your User talk page. May I please borrow it somehow to use on my talk page with some small changes? --Thomprod (talk) 15:03, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Now, how would I copy it with your formatting? --Thomprod (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

RfA edit

Short for "Request for Arrows". :) This has been a hard but useful experience (useful experiences often are hard) and whether I ever accept a nomination again or not, I'm willing to address the cautions of the sincere Opposers and try to do better. Lots of arrows coming at me, and I get the point. :) Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 02:10, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Project Medicine edit

Hi there; thanks for the vandal revert. I am fairly active as an admin in anti-vandal work, and get vandalised pretty often. I used to keep a vandalcounter userbox, but after the score passed a hundred it got silly; and may have attracted them!

I did indeed stick my name down on the project list, on the basis of being a qualified medical practitioner. Like several members, I am sure. I have created a few medical articles, but have tended lately to spend most of my time defending the encyclopedia.

Having said that, i had been thinking recently that there should be things which I can contibute to in my field; I will dive into the project page and have a look around. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:36, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Have a cup of tea edit

Hi, Cyclonenim. I am disappointed to see the recent dispute with Caden S and ParaGreen13. I was wondering whether you feel comfortable running at RfA again. However this recent conflict shows that you don't have the right temperament. You need to chill out a bit more and not take personal offence from random strangers on the internet. Best wishes. A penny for your thoughts? edit

I’m very interested in the broader implications of Wikipedia’s medical articles and how the general population does and should use them. I see that you've made numerous edits on medical articles. I recognize that many people get medical information and general advice from Wikipedia, despite the stated policy that Wikipedia is no substitute for a real doctor.

I’m working on an essay on this topic that I hope to publish in a medical journal, although I have no guarantee that I will be successful in this endeavor. As somebody who has clearly dedicated substantial time and effort to making medical Wikipedia articles better, I wonder if you would be willing to answer some interview questions to be used in the essay. My goal is not to invade privacy, laud or degrade, but simply to gain a better understanding of what motivates some prominent Wikipedians with an interest in medical articles. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on the questions below. Any suggestions of other editors who may be interested in sharing their thoughts would also be welcome. Thank you! What prompted you to begin your involvement contributing to Wikipedia?

What motivates you to continue contributing?

What role should medical Wikipedia articles fill for the lay public?

What role do medical Wikipedia articles fill for the lay public, do you think?

Are Wikipedia medical articles dangerous? (For instance, when editors introduce inaccurate medical information, whether intentional or not.)

What responsibility, if any, should Wikipedia have to protect its readers from inaccurate information?

Will your role as a Wikipedia editor ever be finished? If so, what goals will you have achieved?

What is your medical training/background?

How many hours per week, on average, do you devote to Wikipedia?
