Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Schellman edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Schellman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi Jamiebuba, thank you for your quick review of the draft I submitted.
I was hoping to gain some better understanding of the speedy deletion tag on the page I created for Schellman. I'm new to Wiki and writing articles and thought this would be a good start. I would like to understand what edits I can make to help show that the topic I'm writing about is not advertising in nature. For background, I saw someone from this company speak at a conference in March. They spoke about Digital ID, which I'm very interested in. Trying to broaden my skills on wiki, I thought I would draft a page for Schellman (instead of the person I saw speak, since that seems harder to do) to gain experience before writing other pages. I would love any insights you have into the best way to approach writing pages. I reviewed the How to Create a Page, and I checked the Notability Guidelines page before drafting this page. I've also left a note on the help desk page, too. I welcome your help, if possible. Thank you! CyberTrinity (talk) 16:06, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@CyberTrinity, While i can't remember the exact text of the content, I can say it was definitely PROMOTIONAL. When writing articles, it needs to be written from a NPOV. On a second look, the article may have also had notability issues, publications about the subject need to show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject.
While a Requests for undeletion will be impossible because the article was deleted as an advert/promo. I would advise going through the notability guidelines before recreating. Happy editing. Jamiebuba (talk) 19:04, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
