Moved, with the CAPS version now as redirect (required for me, as I hardcoded its path into monobook.js). You may also be interested in Template:Csd-tip as well. - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 15:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA edit

Thankyou for your participation in my RfA. Due to an almost even spread of votes between Oppose and Support (Final (16/13/6)) I have decided to withdraw for now and re-apply in a couple of months as suggested. I thank everyone for their kind support of my editorial skills; it meant a lot to me to get such strong recommendations from my fellow editors. If you ever have any hints as to how I can improve further, I would love to hear from you. ViridaeTalk 15:24, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

Leah Shakdiel edit

She is notable for the court case and the Rabbinic opinions, not as a person. But the court case should be somewhere to refer to it from other pages. As you know I found myself doing this from Rabbi Waldenberg. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayrav (talkcontribs)

Ann Coulter edit

Good work on reverting the "anti-" categories. It's absolutely crazy to have them there. Lou Sander 19:04, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Yas121 put in an unblock request regarding your block over this dispute (and others), which I reviewed and denied. However, just as a bit of friendly advice, you might want to attempt a little more dialogue with editors whose changes you undo; Yas121 complained to me on IRC that you were unresponsive and didn't explain your actions. Also, if you're involved in a content dispute, it might be wise to get another admin to block others involved if necessary. --Slowking Man 22:31, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is it really so crazy? She is on record calling Arabs 'Ragheads' and as saying we (USA) should just bomb the whole Middle-East. Now reverse the situation, suppose she had called Jews 'Kikes' and said we should just bomb Israel...how long do you think it would be before you, Crzrussian and other Jews here would rush to label her Anti-Semitic and include her in the Category:Anti-Semitic people ??!! Holla edit

I'd not realized how great my loss of conditioning and strength was over the past seven months, so I'm a bit distressed; as a result, though, instead of spending more time at the gym, I'm spending less and instead editing here, which surely has some salutary benefit, even if it doesn't help with my bench press (perhaps I'll just really let myself go, since I think the mouse on the left to be much cuter).

I am, though, so occupied with my work on several sports portals as to be unlikely to be able to undertake any admin work for a while; consequently, I don't yet think an RfA to be appropriate (although I'm surely appreciative of your efforts). There is an impulse at AfD—one that I find unfortunate—to oppose those who seem not to need the admin tools or who seem unlikely to use them, and I'd likely be opposed on those, if on no other, grounds (as User:Jahiegel/Views on Wikipedia suggests—at exorbitant length—where there it is wholly unlikely that a user will abuse the tools, they should be given, even if he'll only use them once weekly; there is no harm, and some benefit, to the project).

I understand removing Ann Coulter from Category:Anti-Arab people [although I surely think that to be an accurate descriptor and imagine your removal of the category stems only from your involvement in the conspiracy that also brought down Mel Gibson :) ], but you might do well to add her to Category:Anti-sane people. In any case, wherever I've happened upon you qua administrator, I've not yet found an instance where I think you to have acted other than correctly, so I should commend you for that (perhaps I should give myself the Nominated for adminship an editor who became a superb admin barnstar). Hope all is well... Joe 06:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Request for advice edit

Hello, I'm looking for advice from an editor more experienced than I am, and the decisions I've seen you make in AfDs have certainly been respectable, so I hope you don't mind me turning to you in this case. I'm currently involved in an edit dispute in the Roy Moore article with what I expect is one user, although the IP addresses have varied some. I won't go into the details of my position, which you can see on the article's talk page, but I would like your advice on how best to reach a consensus/resolution.

I've explained my position in detail on that talk page, and I've left notes on the talk pages of all the user IPs involved, but none have responded either on my talk page or in the article's talk page--they just keep reverting back to their added text. (While the IP is dynamic, most have repeated at one point or another, so the user certainly would see the message on one of the talk pages.) Since the other user hasn't responded, I haven't yet gone to WP:RFC, WP:3O, or other dispute resolution options.

In this case, would you advise me to:

  1. let it go, allow the text to remain in the article, and get on with my life;
  2. allow the text to remain, but add {{POV}}, {{Disputed}}, and/or any other relevant templates;
  3. continue reverting the POV text as I'm currently doing;
  4. pursue a dispute resolution option;
  5. some other course of action;
  6. bugger off and bother some other editor.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! -- H·G (words/works) 06:48, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA and your vote edit

Hi Crazy Russian,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. I plan on becoming much more involved with the articles themselves. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)

Hate speech posted edit

Hey CrazyR! Some anonymous user posted some hate speech about Israel on Talk:Palestine that is offensive. Are we allowed to delete hate speech? I didn’t want to remove it if deletion of talk was against Wiki rules. I found that garbage offensive. Could you look into it? Thanks. JungleCat talk/contrib 14:05, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Passage from Rebbes Army edit

I just wanted to ask you why you found it neccessary to include the passage about Eric Yoffie and his daughter who attends Chabad. I don't know why, but it just seemed out of place to me. Is an article supposed to be compiled of random quotes that are found from any mention to the person in any book? Was there maybe some sort of controversy over the quote that it would need a place in the article? Maybe we should make another section called quotes and put in a couple of his quotes. I think that would make it more at place in the article. What do you think? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sagtkd (talkcontribs) .

Okay, my apologies. I now realize that would have been the right thing to do. Some stuff here is still new to me. Am I allowed to go back and delete it with a reason, or do you think I should just make a new section where it could be more in place? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sagtkd (talkcontribs) .

Question edit

I have an interesting question for you. I've seen you around on Wikipedia quite a bit, and respect your opinion. As such, I'd like to know what you think about the following diffs: [2], [3], [4] and [5] from the same FAC, and [6]. I'm asking because you opposed User:Ambuj.Saxena's RfA for issues that to me appear very similar to what I have been doing constantly to scores of FACs for over a year. Thus, my question is: if I were to stand for adminship today, after seeing this evidence and knowing that I fully stand behind these edits, would you support? I have no desire to continue as an admin if you or others who I respect feel that I should not hold the position. Thanks for your help. --[[User:Spangineer|Spangineer]es (háblame) 07:12, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Romario.jpg) edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Romario.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu Badali 18:00, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for personal attack edit

I have blocked you for one day based on this personal attack. Surely you know better. Fred Bauder 04:30, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I for one don't think your comment was meant as a personal attack. However, unblocking oneself should never be done. I suggest you re-block yourself and let us handle this on WP:ANI. It should be dealt with shortly. JoshuaZ 04:44, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
If this is policy, point me to it, and I will reblock myself. If this is common sense, then I think I have enough credit with this community to stay unblocked foir a while. I won't do anything controversial, worry not. - CrazyRussian talk/email 04:47, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
It was a little bit of both (WP:BLOCK says "Sysops are technically able to unblock themselves by following this procedure but should absolutely not do so") but it doesn't matter now it seems since FB seems to be dropping the matter. JoshuaZ 04:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
See WP:BLOCK#Unblocking. I don't know what your above response is supposed to mean, but I would appreciate it if you allowed the situation to be resolved at the noticeboard. I don't think it was necesarily a person attack either, but when I supported your nomination for adminship I fully expected you to play by the same rules as the other sysops. Isopropyl 04:54, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK. If reblocked I will not re-unblock. I am fully accountable and 100% communicative. I'm going to get back to clearing out Special:Shortpages while y'all consider my fate on ANI. Cheers. - CrazyRussian talk/email 04:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ken Suid and friends edit

I think I'll leave that one to the more enthusiastic "Keep" voters. (In the AfD I noted that it wasn't "one of my more enthusiastic keeps." Consider those a different sort of "weasel words," as in "weaseling my way out of responsibility....") The Roy Moore essayist is on 24-hr timeout for WP:3RR, and yet sadly I'm wasting it on minor housekeeping of that article. Perhaps this will herald a new period of stability for that article? Hmph, I'll take that idea with a pint of blood grain of salt... -- H·G (words/works) 05:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
