You should probably work out the particulars of your additions to Transcendental Meditation in a sandbox off your user page. The information you've added is interesting, and the chart looks good...but I think it will probably be reverted. I'd suggest reading over the rules of Wikipedia to find out more about editing articles, from both a content and a techncial persepctive. For instance, read over WP:CITE to see how to format citations or references for the material you would like to add. Also ask other editors questions, most everyone is willing to help a new editor! Crowley's Aunt, I really appreciate your interactions and your approach to Wikipedia. It's very impressive for a newcomer. Regarding the guidelines that Dreadstar pointed out to you, maybe pay particular attention to the cautions against using web sites as sources. In general, web sites of critics aren't considered reliable sources. I've found that among the critic sites related to Transcendental Meditation, there's a certain canon of errors, falsehoods, and half truths that they all repeat. I've had to correct many of these.

A good example of a critic site is minet, the one that you cited. That citation and point about the mantras was actually in the article for a long time. I was reluctant to remove it, afraid of conflict of interest. It was eventually removed by a Wikipedia Administrator who happened to visit the article and see that it was there. He removed the point as well as the citation.

By the way, like you, I have an appreciation of science. I saw your example of the misuse of Intelligent Design, and I'm with you on matters like that. I read, and really enjoyed, Pennock's book Tower of Babel, which dealt with this. You're doing good work so far in Wikipedia. TimidGuy 11:31, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
