Speedy deletion nomination of Richard Warren (musician)
editA tag has been placed on Richard Warren (musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ridernyc (talk) 10:50, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have declined the speedy deletion requests. Richard Warren appears to be a notable musician. I have left some links on the talk page which can be used for reference and to show notability. --Canley (talk) 12:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I have added some of the links requested and will be adding much more to the site over the next few days; is that ok?Cronk69 (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Richard Warren (musician) has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Richard Warren (musician) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Help request
editHello, you used the {{helpme}} tag but you did not post a question. Please write out your question and when you are done, place back the tag. I or someone else will be along to help. Alternatively, you can join the #wikipedia-en-help IRC help channel to get real-time assistance. (Click here for instant access). |

{{helpme}}sorry, new to this! I added the links that were suggested and will adding more info to the page ove the next few days; is that ok?Cronk69 (talk) 16:06, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi there! No problem, I'm sure we can help you out here. I guess you're referring to the 'speedy deletion' thing, regarding Richard Warren (musician)? Because Wikipedia is 'live' all the time, things move quickly. The article will almost certainly be removed within the next few hours (if it's not already - if that link is red, it's gone). However, don't panic :-) I have made a copy of the article in your own user area, in User:Cronk69/Warren. You can edit the article there, fix it up, add references, etc etc - and it won't be removed. Take your time. Once it is OK, you could make it live again by copying it over - but, before you do, I recommend you ask someone to check it over for you.
To ask for this, or for any other help, you can either;
- Leave a message on my own talk page;
OR
- Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end;
OR
- Talk to us live.
Cheers, Chzz ► 16:19, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
P.S. I happen to be in Nottinghamshire myself, just a few miles from Sutton :-)
Welcome

Help part 2
edit{{helpme}}It says this further up my talkpage; does that mean it's ok now? I have put up the links that were suggested I have declined the speedy deletion requests. Richard Warren appears to be a notable musician. I have left some links on the talk page which can be used for reference and to show notability. --Canley (talk) 12:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC) Cronk69 (talk) 16:29, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, the speedy deletion has been declined, so the article lives on. You could therefore edit/improve the live page, or you might find it easier to edit the user version so that you can check things. Then you can copy/paste stuff across. Note that, in the user page version, I removed the tags at the top (about it needing references etc), and I also removed the categories from the bottom (because they shouldn't be used in user space) - so, if you do work on the user area version, be careful when copying it to the live. Best to just copy one section or something. Leave the tags on the top of the live version until you're confident you have fixed the problems described, then you are quite welcome to remove them yourself.
- I do recommend working through my 'welcome' thing - it is the best way to get started. Also, if your computer can manage it, please do talk to us live. Cheers, Chzz ► 16:34, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Giraffe album.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Giraffe album.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:54, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Rich_wiki.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Rich_wiki.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:52, 27 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 09:52, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Richard Warren
editBecause we do not use galleries of non-free material in artist articles per WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFLISTS. This is not only policy but general community consensus. If you can talk about the artistic side of the album design in the article then there may be a case to be made for including examples but a full discography will not be allowed to stand I'm afraid. In general, album covers should only be shown in articles about the album, not the artist - check out other musical artists and you will see this (and if you don't, there's something wrong with the other article as well!).
