Speedy deletion of Neo slavery edit

A tag has been placed on Neo slavery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:15, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

A couple of notes edit

Hi Crispy smith,

I just wanted to stop by and let you know about the reason I tagged your article for deletion. My deletion was not a commentary on your point--rather, the article seemed to violate the Wikipedia policies of verifiability and original research by not establishing notability through the use of external sources or references. I suggest you read through these policies, as well as the guide to creating new articles, so you can make longer-lasting contributions in the future. I've also included the standard welcome template below, which has a number of links that you may find useful. Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions! --jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:19, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

October 2007 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Neo slavery. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:19, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Response to talk page question edit

Hi Steve,

Let me first begin by assuring you that as I write this, your page has not yet been deleted. Rather, I nominated it for speedy deletion based on my belief that you do not establish the subject's notability--in a short while, an administrator will come along, review your article, and determine whether or not my assessment was correct.

As far as writing the article you want to write, I first have to stress to you Wikipedia's policy on original research, which is one of our core policies: simply put, no original research is allowed on Wikipedia.

However, if you can find verifiable sources that back up your claims, this will both establish notability (i.e. it is notable enough that other people have written about it) and eliminate the problem of original research. Likewise, if you can get your own work published in a reputable journal, you can cite your own work (albeit with some caveats).

I hope this helps. Please take the time to browse through the links I left you above this post as well; I think you will find them very useful. Let me know if you have any other questions! --jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:37, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
